For these species, you're likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Capt. Sam also specializes in kite fishing for sailfish which is the favorite way to fish in South Florida. For the more adventurous among you, there's spearfishing, lobstering and even bowfishing.
If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Snacks are also a good idea to stay fueled throughout your trip!
You'll be dropping lines from a high end Center console with room for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, custom tuna tower, a fighting chair, and all the top-of-the-line electronics.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
It's recommended to bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Drinks and ice are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation. There will be some light snacks included on board.

Had a great day w Sam on the Splash and Boom! Took my son and his friends from UMiami for an afternoon hoping to see a variety of fish and Sam didnt disappoint us. We caught a nice sailfish after an hour or so and then we had a variety of bites before landing the trophy - a whopper of an African Pompano (36lbs!). Capt Sam worked super hard and is an easygoing, engaging guy with good stories. Its clear he knows these waters like the back of his hand. Book the Splash and Boom and have yourself a day!
My friends and I booked this trip for our summer vacation in Miami. We caught so many fish including Dorado, Baracuda, Sailfish and much more. The crew was very friendly and have many years of experience, and even filleted the fish for us to keep. They watched for every spot they could find a school of fish and chased down our Sailfish which we saw jumping in the water. The trip was comfortable accomidating the 4 of us and 2 crewmen, as well as plenty snacks in a pretty large sized boat paired with 4 motors. Overall it was worth every penny, and was an exhilarating experience. We would definitely recommend booking with SplashandBoom and would do it again in a heartbeat!
Sam is a diehard fisherman who is dedicated to ensuring his clients have a great time on the water. Even with less than ideal conditions with winds blowing out the east at 25 knots with snotty seas we still made it out to the grounds when essentially no other charters did. Sam is extremely knowledgeable and made the trip both educational and exhilarating. Definitely fishing with him when I come back to visit the area.
We booked this trip for my son’s fifth birthday to take him and his friends out for their first fishing experience and gosh what a great time. Big things to Sam.
