Great day of fishing on Top Gun with Captain Nel.  Had food and drink ready for us upon arrival, Captain and First Mate were top notch on the fishing and we came home with a nice catch of Mahi Mahi.  Finished the day with filleting our catch and directing us to a restaurant just down the street that cooked up about the freshest fish dinner possible.  Our clients enjoyed the day and all agreed the fishing was better than golf the following day at Doral (for about a third the cost for six of us).  We’ll be back next year for another trip!

The captain was very nice and his first mate was great. Unfortunately, the captain said his fish finder was broken. The exhaust fumes added to my sea sickness. The first mate worked hard the old fashion way to find where the fish might be. Good guys overall.

Thanks for you review Ken.  It was not a fish finder that was broken. Both work great. Turns out that our fly bridge chart plotter was broken but I installed the latest and greatest in its place the next day. We have another in the tower though. Electronics can’t help us find the Mahi (Dolphin) under those conditions in Miami. When it comes to Mahi (dolphin) fishing, nothing beats binoculars in the cockpit to find the birds against the horizon.  Old school but it works. We caught a few Mahi and Tuna even though it was a challenging half day offshore.  I usually like to leave the Mahi fishing for full days since it sometimes takes a while to find the fish.
Sorry you felt sick but it was choppy. The only cure is to fish more!  Hope to see you guys again soon..
