Species like Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Bonnethead Shark, Blacktip Shark, Sheepshead, and more inhabit these waters, depending on conditions. During the trip, you might be spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Joe Cefus offers fly fishing on grass flats at high tides.
Your trip begins aboard a 10' Old Town Sportsman Kayak with a capacity for 1 passenger. There are two available. They have all the essentials.
You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
You need to purchase a local saltwater fishing license before the trip.

Sunset Fishing Trip on July 9, 2024 • 1 adultMy son had a great experience with Joe. The kayaks were decked out, safe and easy to use. Joe provided the poles and bait and drinks, too. My son said that Joe was very knowledgeable of the local fish and waters. Current was a bit strong the day they fished so that was a challenge.

I learned a lot from Joe, being on my first kayaking fishing trip, and enjoyed every minute of it. Joe was constantly taking care of any issues and making sure I was setup to catch fish. So much so, I lost track of how many I caught! What I appreciated the most about Joe was his focus on my experience and not being distracted woth being on a phone or something else. Which has happened to me with other guides, but not with Joe. 10 out of 10, I would deffinitely do it again! Well worth the cost and had a full afternoon of fun!

The tide was acting funky for a few days after the full moon so there weren’t heaps of redfish feeding, but where there were we got some action.
