Outgoing Angling is here to help you catch Salmon to bring home!  When visiting Alaska in June or July fishing the Kasilof River for Sockeye Salmon is your best bet for action and fish for the freezer.

These trips are fun drift boat rides down different sections of the Kasilof River, it's a great way to see the beauty of the scenic river and catch a few fish also!

Sockeye Salmon are best had with a fly rod and while it is a fly rod used, it's not exactly fly fishing. What we are doing out there to catch fish is called flipping and it's easy enough that most people ages 10-70 years old can get the hang of it fairly quickly. Hooking and landing a Salmon on the fly is a blast especially if it's your first time.

While these Salmon are fun to catch, they're even better to eat. With a daily bag limit that typically ranges from 3-6 fish per person, you can easily fill a box to bring back with you or ship home. Capt. Jordan welcomes anglers of all ages, including kids, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. And, you can't go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty belly!

Your excursion begins aboard a 20' Willie driftboat with a capacity for 5 passengers. It has all the essentials. Rods, reels,  and tackle are provided.

Some essentials to bring are bottled water, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

If you have any questions about fishing with Outgoing Angling, you can send Capt. Jordan a message down below.

Family salmon fishing trip
6 Hour Trip – Sockeye Salmon - 11:00 AM on July 10, 20245 adults

My family of 5 (with 3 teenagers) went salmon fishing with Jordan and had a great time. He contacted us ahead of time asking about changing the time to make it more likely we'd catch fish, based on what he had been seeing, and it worked because we caught our limit with time to spare. The equipment was great, the boat ride on the river was beautiful, and Jordan knew a ton about what we were seeing around us. As for the fishing, our family has some experience with fishing, but never with salmon or any sort of fly fishing, but Jordan did a great job teaching us and we all caught plenty. Overall, all 5 of us had a great time, and I would recommend Jordan as a guide for anyone with little experience looking to catch salmon!
