You’ll target your catch by light tackle fishing, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. James also offers Flounder gigging.
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks so that everyone stays happy and energized!
Capt. James will bring you aboard a 24’ Downeast with room for 6 passengers. It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
You do not need to buy a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
A few items to bring include sunscreen (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

I wanted to take my son out for one last fishing trip before going back to school, and Shore Thing was able to squeeze us in. They worked with us to get us on the water at the time that would give us the best chance of seeing some action. Everything was very easy; the boat was clean and safe, the gear was well maintained, and the captain was very attentive to making sure we had what we needed and could catch what we were interested in. We had a great time and left with plenty of fish for a few dinners which was awesome 😊

My two sons, daughter in law and myself had a great time fishing. Captain James was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful as was his first mate. We originally scheduled for a Wednesday morning but bad weather was forecasted so we were able to reschedule to Friday morning. We caught about 15 flounder and a few more that didn't quite make it to the boat. They weren't keepers but it was great action all morning. I highly recommend booking with Captain James.

Captain James and first mate Ted did a fantastic job taking us to all the right fishing holes to catch flounder. My boys loved every minute of it.

We booked this trip for a bachelor party and had a complete blast. cost some really great fish and had a wonderful time with the captain and Skipper. when the fish weren't biting, the captain moved us to better fishing grounds where we stayed until they stopped biting.
