Species like Black Seabass, Gray Triggerfish, Vermilion Snapper, Sheepshead, Cobia, Grunt, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Spanish Mackerel, Amberjack, Gag Grouper, Black Drum, and more could be biting if you cast your line at the right time of year. On these trips, you can expect to troll and bottom fish using heavy tackle.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Snacks are never a bad idea so that nobody gets cranky on an empty belly!
You’ll step aboard a 31’ Delta Sportfisher with space for 6 passengers. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels. Live bait is included (seasonally), but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates often work for tips and it’s customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain. Don’t leave home without sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), and a hat. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid glass bottles.

Great fishing trip!
8 Hour Trip – Offshore Fishing on March 15, 2025
Our family had a great time fishing with Georgia Coast Charters! We did an 8 hour offshore trip. We saw dolphins and sea turtles on the way out to the spot. Once we got there, the sonar wasn't working, but Captain Kyle still got us on fish! We caught a lot of Black Sea Bass, some Trigger fish, Vermillion, and of course the fighting Red Snappers that we had to throw back, but man, what a time getting them on board! First mate Joe was extremely attentive and helpful. We lost some rigs to sharks but were baited back up and running within minutes. Overall a great time. Would definitely book with them again!

Most Fun thing to do on Tybee
4 Hour Trip – Offshore Fishing on August 10, 2024
Our offshore fishing trip with Kyle and Phil with Georgia Coast Charters exceeded our expectations. Kyle did a phenomenal job helping us learn and appreciate the gorgeous scenery and basics of fishing. Phil did a super job helping navigate, baiting and untangling our poles. They both were extremely patient and excellent teachers with the novice fishermen of our group. The boat ride alone was fun and beautiful but catching sea bass and having them cleaned and ready for us to pan fry for a delicious lunch was above and beyond and made it the perfect excursion. This is a must do Tybee experience. Your family and friends will have guaranteed fun and great memories and a lifetime of “fish tales” to reminisce about. . Thanks 😊

6 Hour Trip – Offshore Fishing on June 26, 2025
It was the first time my nephew got to fish from a boat in the ocean. The Captain and his first Mate made his first experience, awesome!! I can’t thank them enough. We caught several fish to keep and to return to the ocean.
