If you’re going to cast a line in Pensacola, look no further than Tradition Fishing Charters. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Miles is prepared to put you on fish.
Species like Amberjack, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Red Grouper, Almaco Jack, Gag Grouper, Scamp Grouper, Red Snapper, Mahi Mahi, Little Tunny (False Albacore), Cobia, Vermilion Snapper, Wahoo, and more could be biting, depending on the season. During the trip, you might be spinning, trolling, drifting, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Tradition Fishing Charters welcomes kids aboard, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. You’re welcome to bring snacks to keep your stamina going!
Your boat for the day is a 48’ Marine Management sportfishing vessel with a capacity for 25 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Miles has rods and reels for you, along with lures.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. It’s customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain. Don’t forget to bring sunglasses, bottled water, and sunblock (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Great day on the water
6 Hour Trip (AM) on April 11, 2025
The crew was fantastic. The check in a few days ahead and also the day before was excellent so we knew what to expect. The boat was very comfortable for our larger group that would not fit on the usual 6 pack. We caught more than 50 fish and had a blast. And as a bonus, the crew cleaned the fish at the dock! Captain and mate were super friendly and fun to be around. Could not ask for a better day!

4 hour morning trip

We did the 4 hour trip because we had some new people and wanted to give them an easy first experience. This was a great trip! Even on a short one like this we still caught quite a few fish and the captain and first mate were exceptional. Highly reccomend.

Despite the elements, they did a great job

What a find and great trip. There were challenges with waves, current, and wind going 3 different directions and we had to move the boat a few times to find the right spots. The crew did an amazing job and we caught enough fish to feed 11 back on land that night. My 10 year old daughter out fished the whole boat catching 9 fish just herself! Great trip with so many memories. Thanks!

We had a great captain and crew but didn’t realize that the 4 hour trip didn’t really produce fish like we thought- we basically had a good time fishing for bait fish- if we would have known that by going to the. 6 hour or longer trip, we would have gotten some edible fish- we would have done that instead - we really weren’t told that when we booked the trip- still very enjoyable overall!
