Costa Rica has a fish with your name on it, so let Amberjack Tours help you catch it! Having logged many hours on these tides, our respected captain is prepared to put you on fish.

Top targets for offshore and inshore trips include Sailfish, Marlin, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Yellowfin Tuna, Amberjack, Red Snapper, Cubera Snapper, Geouper,, and more, depending on the time of year and whether you book an inshore or offshore trip.

Trolling can be used for both offshore and inshore charters. Inshore fishing trips can be reef fishing, bottom fishing, jigging, popping, and more.

Amberjack operates a 28' Sportfishing Yacht that will accommodate up to 6 fishermen. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials. There's a bathroom on board for your convenience.

We carry only high-end tournament-grade equipment and tackle including PENN International Rods, Reels, teasers, dredge bars, and live bait are all used and included in the price.

There will be a First Mate as well as an additional fisherman/service mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. Mates and captains work hard to make your trip count, so a 15-25% tip is customary.

Before coming aboard, you'll need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information will be provided to you before your charter and the licenses are purchased online. Some species (billfish) are protected and are catch & release only.

It's never a bad idea to bring sunscreen (non-spray), a hat, and sunglasses. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Liquor is allowed (beer is provided) but please deink in moderation for your own safety. (Please do not bring aboard glass bottles.)

Beer, wine, Coke-branded sodas, flavored teas, and bottled water are included on all of our private charters. Hummus & vegetables, fruit platter, and snacks are provided on all trips. 6 and 8-hour charters on the Amberjack boat include a chef prepared lunch!

Excellent customer service, delicious food, fishing fun!

The owner, Amber, greeted us with homemade muffins and a smile! she introduced us to her friendly captain, Carlos, and crew who were very accommodating and fun to chat with! my wife got to practice her Spanish with Dennis. The fresh fruit, snacks and lunch they served on the boat were very tasty. Although we had no luck catching a marlin or sailfish (no other boats did that day!), we caught grouper aplenty! the crew cut it up in perfect fillets and we have enjoyed eating it! we will definitely be back and hope to see Amber and her crew again!

Two 40 lb yellowfin and memories for a lifetime!

Full Day -Offshore or Inshore on November 25, 2025 • 5 adults

Amber and her husband Julio were responsive and attentive to all of our questions leading up to our trip. They made finding the boat so easy and were prompt and welcoming! We booked a full day and My husband and 12 year old son went fishing in the am and then my daughters and I joined at 3 for a boat ride and snorkeling. It was the most amazing trip all around. Highlight for my son and husband was 2 x 40lb plus yellowfin tuna!! Highlight for the girls were schools of fish close enough to touch! We LOVED AMBERJACK AND WILL BOOK AGAIN NEXT YEAR FOR SURE!

Amazing fishing trip!

We had the best day sport fishing with Amber and her crew on the Amberjack. They were so friendly, knowledgeable, and supportive as we reeled in our catches. Amber served delicious fruit, sandwiches, and drinks. We highly recommend Amberjack to anyone looking for an incredible fishing experience while in Costa Rica!

John, We truly enjoyed having your lovely family aboard the Amberjack boat for your three-quarter day offshore fishing charter. Everyone in your family was a champ, despite the windy conditions. I was so happy that you and your wife landed those giant yellowfin tunas on the double hook up at the end of the day. Your daughter was a boss independently reeling up her enormous grouper from deep down. I sincerely hope that you and your family have a great rest of your visit to Playa Flamingo. Great 3/4 Day Offshore Trip

3/4 Day- Offshore or Inshore on June 25, 2025 • 4 adults • 1 child

We had a great 3/4 Day Offshore Trip on the Amberjack! Family of 5 with three teens, and we call caught fish. 2 billfish, 2 mahi, some grouper, and some snapper for dinner. Captain and first mate were very nice and definitely knew what they were doing. Amber answered countless questions prior to the trip, brought some great food, got some great pics to share with us, and was like having a second first mate on the boat to help fishing. They were flexible and willing to go after the big fish and also grab some great dinner fish on the way in. Boat was very nice with plenty of seating and plenty of shade, and equipment was good. Would highly recommend and will use this group again next time. Thanks again Amber and crew.

It was an absolute pleasure to have Michael and his wife, daughter and 2 sons on the Amberjack boat for this 3/4 Day offshore. While the mani mahi were small they were perfect for great filets for dinner or making ceviche. 2 nice sailfish which the boys reeled in like pros! We were the only boat out that day that was catching billfish so compliments to captain Carlos for putting us on those fish. We switched over to bottom fishing for grouper as the family wanted to bring fresh fish home for dinner. Although the grouper were not enormous we definitely caught enough to feed the family for a fish feast. We sincerely enjoyed having you guys on the boat and hope you choose Amberjack again for your next fishing trip in Costa Rica.

Planning a trip back early next year to fish with this outfit. The crew is top notch - the best I've experienced in hundreds of trips. Amber makes the booking and boarding process smooth and Julio and crew really take care of you. We caught (and released) 3 sailfish and one MASSIVE blue marlin. Will never forget it.
