Fishin Finnatic LLC
Hoping to go fishing in Oak Harbor? Look no further than Fishin' Finnatic! Having logged many hours on the lake, Captain Josh knows them forwards and back.
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Walleye, Perch, and whatever else takes the bait. Depending on the species you're after, you may find yourself light tackle fishing casting, trolling, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Jigging: Cast 1/2oz - 3/4oz hair jigs near the reefs for those aggressive bites during the spawn.
Drift Fishing: Casting walleye worm harnesses or bottom bouncers to offer that more, hand to hand combat feeling while fishing.
Trolling: Inquire with Captain about trolling trips.
Set up a full spread with worm harnesses, spoons, crankbaits, and stick baits—but here, YOU handle the rods! No just sitting back and waiting; you'll be fully involved in every part of the process.
This isn't your average trolling charter—it's a hands-on learning experience that will make you a better angler while you reel in those walleye!
Perch Fishing- Using Spreaders or vertical perch rigs tipped with minnows. We drop the baits straight down and wait for that rod tip to bounce!
Before coming aboard, you will be required to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain.
A few items to bring include sunglasses, a hat, and sunblock (non-spray). There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. It is
recommended to wear pants and a UV protective long sleeves. This helps not only with sun protection but any bugs that may be present.
Alcohol is allowed in moderation, no hard liquor or glass bottles will be permitted aboard.

Went out for a walleye trip a little late in the season and had a great time. Caught enough walleye to fry for dinner that night and threw a couple fillets in the freezer as well. The captain of the boat, Josh, was happy to help with tips and had a lot of info on everything from cooking to pointers on reeling them in. He saved us some time by filleting the walleye after we docked the boat as well which was great. Would definitely book again.

Hey Adam, I am happy to hear you all had a great time on the trip. I hope you enjoyed your fish fry! Congratulations again and I look forward to getting out again!

At an early age I developed an absolute love of fishing and being on the open water. My love for being on the water has pushed me to fish multiple inlands waters including ice fishing, the flats along the Florida coast and uncountable miles in the open ocean off of Key West. Along the way I also developed the love of being in the water resulting in me becoming a NAUI Dive Instructor. I originally had started as a first mate on Lake Erie but quickly obtained my Captains License. Having nearly 20 years of experience fishing the western basin of Lake Erie, and the network of fellow fisherman I have the confidence of how to locate and how to provide the techniques you need to catch fish.
