These waters are home to Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Crappie, Yellow Perch, Bluegill (non-established), and Carp. During the trip we will use light-medium tackle. We also migh try trolling, jigging, drop shotting or bait fishing at times.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask the size you need and it will be provided. Don’t forget to bring snacks to ward off any mid-trip fatigue!
Your vessel for the day is a 16’ Tracker Pro-V Guide aluminum fishing boat with space for 2 full-sized passengers, one adult, and a couple of kids, whatever your situation requires. It comes with downriggers and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures.
You will need to get a local fishing license before the trip and entry to the State Park. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species targeted (depending on size) may be requested to be released but are not required. There are also different regulations for each species.
Don’t forget to bring sunscreen, bottled water, and sunglasses. Alcohol is not allowed.

Half Day Trip on June 30, 2025
My son and I had an amazing experience with Weston. We booked the morning 5 hr excursion and Weston was very responsive through the entire booking process. He gave us precise directions to our meeting point and was already ready to go the morning of (we were even early). He knew exactly where to go on the lake to find fish. My son caught ?5 different kinds of fish and had an amazing time! Weston was really good with my son too, teaching him different knots and what lures to use to catch the different types of fish. All in all, the day was a big hit for my son and myself. We would book with Weston again in a heartbeat!

Full Day Trip on May 10, 2025
We started out a little slow going for our target fish, walleye, but alas after about 1.5 2 hours with no action, Captain Weston said "enough of this". We drove across the lake and got into a hot bed of rainbows. Biggest was almost 2 feet!!! And the action was awesome. Once hooked, the trout would jump, run, go under the boat. It was so fun!!. Captain Weston knows his stuff and this is the second time I have used him, never a disappointment.

SO glad we booked a trip with Weston. Not only did we have a GREAT day, with great conversation AND catch a ton of big fish but we also learned a lot. We learned so much too. We had car troubles that morning and he was even nice enough to nearly drive to us and jump our car, and we relocated to somewhere closer.

I used Weston as my guide on Starvation Reservoir to take me and my dad who was visiting from out of state out for a half day of fishing. Weston did an amazing job at communicating ahead of time and making sure he matched the trip with our goals. Weston was well aware of conditions and which species were on ahead of our trip. We caught lots of fish and had a great time on our trip. Highly recommend Weston as a guide.

Weston grew up in the Heber Valley, always fishing after school on the small creek near his home. No matter where he goes, if there is water, he will fish it. His most cherished memories are fishing with his dad and grandpa at deercreek, strawberry, starvation, and current creek reservoirs. Weston has been fishing on the reservoirs surrounding Heber Valley for over 25 years. 2024 finally became the year he made his life-long dream a reality by becoming a full-time fishing guide.
