Weston grew up in the Heber Valley, always fishing after school on the small creek near his home. No matter where he goes, if there is water, he will fish it. His most cherished memories are fishing with his dad and grandpa at deercreek, strawberry, starvation, and current creek reservoirs.
Weston has been fishing on the reservoirs surrounding Heber Valley for over 25 years. 2024 finally became the year he made his life-long dream a reality by becoming a full-time fishing guide. He has spent thousands of hours fishing and never gets tired of it. He loves to get to know new people and strives to help everyone become more successful at fishing and to have a fun time doing it. He is always open to make new friends, learn from them and also share what he knows.

Half Day Trip (PM) • 3 adults • 1 childMy 6 year old grandson, my friend, and I had the most amazing fishing adventure with Captain Weston. He provided excellent and unending guidance to us all. The rainbow trout were biting and we caught and released 12. The biggest was a 19 incher, caught by my grandson. Also caught were a walleye, blue gill, large mouth and small mouth bass. The final part of the adventure was when Captain Wes rescued 3 unfortunate paddleboarders. He made our fishing experience truly an amazing adventure.

Half Day Trip (PM) • 3 adultsI can’t recommended this charter fishing enough!!! Weston is very knowledgeable about the area and the lake. We were so lucky to have him on the trip with us! He’s the nicest guy. The best part is we caught a bunch of fish! We were a little worried because we didn’t get the best weather but Weston came through. We didn’t have enough hands to reel them in fast enough at one point. Got super lucky and saw a bald eagle hunting. We plan to make this an annual trip.

Half Day Trip (PM) • 2 adultsVisiting my son in Utah, neither of us have fished in the state. I have never hired a guide for lake fishing; only for ocean fishing. Captain Weston was great, very personable. He had all the gear needed and we caught several kinds of fish. More fish than I remember catching on a lake when I did that many years ago. Definitely worth doing with him if you get the chance. Thanks for a great afternoon on the lake Captain!

Epic Catch: 65 Rainbow Trout Released

This one rainbow trout was the most pretty we have seen and apparently the only photo i took that day while being too busy unhooking fish and resetting lines. We seriously had our best day ever on fri august 7th for rainbow trout. Despite the heat we were able to catch and release 65 rainbow trout. I cannot ever guarentee that is how many we would catch when we go. However some days the stars align and its basically non stop action!

First Nice Bass of the year and a Jackpo

We started out doing what we normally do, caught a couple nice healthy rainbows right away, it slowed down quick in the morning, but we were able to catch a few more rainbows and a brown trout. We then moved to try for bass as the day warmed up, within 15 minutes or so we caught a 2lb smallmouth and a 23" 4lb brown trout, super fat and healthy! Also caught a fat female bluegill which was also ready to spawn.
Honestly as a guide this week has been tough, we have really had to work for the fish. The lake has had a lot of fishing pressure, and a lot of fish are scattered. The great thing is, we are catching some nice ones. We have caught 1 rainbow this week at 20" and a 23" brown trout. There are a lot of small rainbow trout grouped up in different areas, but working for the big ones has paid off!

Fishing is good

We are currently catching trout and some walleye while trolling, typically catching 2-3 walleye per trip around 14-17". Trout are around same size while sometimes catching one or two over 18"-19". Typically catching around 12-20 rainbow trout per trip.
We have also been able to catch some smallmouth bass. Mostly smaller, but we did catch one at 17.5" 3lb the other day, was a super nice smallie. We recommend catch and release on bass while they are currently spawning.
If you are debating a trip with us. Please come out on a weekday! We experience less boat traffic on the lake and also have our best amount of walleye june-july, trout will also be amazing in the early mornings in mid-late june to late july.

Bass and trout spawn is on!!

We typically do well for rainbow trout, somedays have been great and some slow. Weather keeps changing on and off and it plays a big role. We sometimes catch some spawning males that are not good eating, but are pretty fish. We have been getting a couple nice rainbows usually each trip around 18-19".
As its been warming the bass have been staging and bedding up, especially smallmouth, largemouth will spawn probably end of the month, but smallies started on shallow areas of the lake. They have been more active on warmer days.
Brown trout are rare but possible, sometimes we luck into them ranging from 18"+. But we dont typically catch them each trip, maybe one every other week or so.
End of may early june is going to be great for bass and walleye! Were looking forward to take you out and catch some!

One limit of bows and 15 walleye

We fished saturday july 6th and caught a bunch of walleye and a few rainbows. Surprisingly Fishing seemed best around 9-11 am. The weather was a bit cooler last week. We fished today and caught one walleye and 3 trout. It was a bit slow and fish were very finicky. With the heat things are slowing down a little bit.
