Meet Captain Jerry…
Captain Jerry Vrbanovic is a United States Coast Guard-certified 100-ton Master Captain. His father was a commercial fisherman, and Jerry grew up admiring his dad's work and helping him whenever his boat would return to San Pedro's Fisherman's Wharf.
Jerry has always loved anything related to fishing and would spend all of his free time at the nearby docks. When he was twelve he began working as a pinhead on the Monte Carlo sport fishing boat run by Paul Strasser of San Diego's Independence Sport fishing. Soon he worked his way up to being a deckhand, and it was from this position that Jerry learned the art of exceptional customer service.
Additionally, Jerry's experience working under talented captains taught him the importance of boat safety and maintenance. He continued fishing in his free time and took many trips to Catalina Island and Mexico.
He loved bringing home bags of wild-caught Tuna, Bass, Yellowtail, and Rockfish. He and his dad would often prepare traditional Croatian dishes as they both love to cook and feed others.
Jerry had dreams of running his own sport fishing business in The Gulf of Mexico and decided to make Sarasota his home. His goal is to show his customers a great day of fishing. He loves sending people home with beautifully filleted fish ready to be cooked up and devoured!

This was the first charter for two of my boys and Captain Jerry didnt disappoint! We were originally planning to head out to fish the reef but the water wasnt going to cooperate with that. So, we stayed inland and the Captain found us some nice spots to fish. we reeled in some mangrove snapper, crevalle jack, and even a small flounder that we had to release. Stickney Point bridge was a bit of a bust - but the Captain made sure the boys got to fight a few last fish before we headed in for the day. We’ll definitely head out on another charter (hopefully to deeper waters) and when we do, the only Captain we are calling is Jerry!

I booked a fishing trip with Captain Jerry for my son (10) and me during his Spring Break. We had a fantastic time. Capt Jerry communicated great leading up to the trip. He even offered to flex our time because it was going to windy. (We couldn’t due to flights.) Marina is easy to get to and boat is easy to get on. Great time out to get fishing and Capt Jerry knows where to go. Most appreciated is he focused on my fishing fanatic son and helped him catch a bunch of fish. My son wants to go back…so do I. I highly encourage you to book with Capt Jerry.

Our fishing trip was a last minute booking for my wife, 2 teenage children, and myself. Captain Jerry very quickly returned by call, was truly excited we booked, and assured me that we would catch fish, which we did. On a 4 hour afternoon trip, Captain Jerry quickly put us on the fish. We caught 5 Spanish mackerel, 2 large sheepshead, and 6 grunt. Captain Jerry was very engaging and a nice person. I would definitely recommend fishing with Captain Jerry Vrbanovic with Wild Catch Fishing Charters!

Captain Jerry provided a top notch fishing trip, jammed packed with great vibes. His expertise and easy-going manner is so perfect for our family, I forgot he wasnt a blood relative. Not only did we catch a bunch of fish which he later prepared, captain Jerry offered to take pictures. Thanks for the phenomenal experience while keeping us safe. Captain Mike did his best to make the trip very enjoyable for my family. Waves were a bit rough and he found a great spot where we caught a lot of snapper, along with some other species. He recommended a great location that cooks your catch and it was absolutely amazing, putting the final stamp on a great day.
