Reel Compulsive Fishing Charters offers a great variety of trips to suit any taste, so join them to explore these rich Florida waters! Captain Tony Varano is a New Smyrna Beach native and has 25 years of experience as a captain, so you know you’re in great hands to get you on the fish.
The 42’ Egg Harbor sportfishing boat you will be using is powered by two 550 HP Detroit motors, getting you out to the perfect spot as soon as possible. All trips come with fishing licenses for all on board and all the tackle, rods, and bait you will need. Capt. Tony also has a first mate that will help keep you hooked up all day long.
From hitting inlets and bridges for Redfish, Tarpon, and Snapper, to heading offshore and hunting wrecks for Grouper and Mahi Mahi, Capt. Tony has got it all. Some of the world’s most popular inshore species live in these waters. Fish such as Tarpon and Jack Crevalle are always sure to put up a fight, while you can head offshore for the beautiful Sailfish or Mahi Mahi.
This means that you’ll get to use a range of fishing techniques, too. With all amenities on board, including live wells and tuna tubes, you’ll get to bottom fish, deep sea fish, troll, spin, jig, pop, drift, and even fly fish to make a memorable catch. The crew will be happy to clean your fish at the end of the trip if you choose to take any home for a well-earned dinner.
Along with his experience, Capt. Tony brings enthusiasm and a love of fishing which will make every trip special. With trips ranging from 3–10 hours, from inshore to offshore, targeting such a diverse range of species, you will not be disappointed.

8 Hour Sportfishing Trip
Another great trip w/ Captain Tony, repeat customer
Been on Captain To I’d boat multiple times. Great captain, puts you on the fish. We started out our 8 hour deep sea sport fishing trip reef fishing the bottom. Caught 12 red vermillion, grunts and big Trigger fish within 30 minutes of dropping lines. Kept bottom fishing (tried a couple different spots) and drifting bait and chumming, Caught a very large, Mangrove snapper (very mature adult), been fishing these waters for years, mostly during Mangrove snapper season, never caught one. That catch made my trip. The other person in my party, Michael, caught the large Trigger fish (Michael has never been deep sea fishing), a large Baracuda and several nice sized Bonita’s (False Albacore Tuna’s). Trolling was slow but we had a beautiful morning, good temps (overcast good part of the morning) and saw a tom of sea life I recorded: Spotted porpoises, school of flying fish, bait balls galore and I finally landed a sub-adult Barcuda on a planar line. All in all, Tony put us on the fish, never a doubt, they just weren’t hitting our trolling lures rigged with Bonita. Can’t blame the captain for that. Russ, his mate, was OUTSTANDING. Super-Friendly, took great care of Michael and I and was positive the whole trip. Fishing, deep sea, inland, fresh water is not all about just catching a monster, it’s about enjoying nature and the peace of the sea. Tony and Russ delivered that. Thanks again Captain Tony - Greg

10 Hour Sportfishing Trip
Fishing, Fun, and a Few Green Face
We originally booked a 10-hour fishing charter with Captain Tony and his mate Russ, but had to cut it down to 6 hours after a few of us started turning a lovely shade of green. Captain Tony and Russ were total pros—super understanding and didn’t make us walk the plank (though we probably deserved it). Despite the shortened trip, Captain Tony and Russ had a solid game plan and knew exactly where to go. Russ kept the vibes light and made sure we still had a great time. We even managed to catch some fish—so we didn’t go home empty-handed or totally defeated by the sea. Highly recommend this crew if you’re looking for skill, patience and a good time!

8 Hour Sportfishing Trip
Fish for Days!!!
We recently chartered with Captain Tony and First Mate Russ and had a fantastic family experience. We were treated with wonderful hospitality and insights as we set off pre-dawn to get the the Fishing Grounds Capt Tony had in his bag of tricks for the day. Russ was an amazing host, teacher and role model for our family and was worth his weight in gold in gold—prepping bait, rigging lines and helping Capt Tony position us over hotbeds of fish. As soon as lines were dropped we were getting “Fish on!” From both side of the boat—so fun to watch my family all catching fish. Great action and not too much time has passed before we limited out on our Vermillion Snapper. We they spent the remainder of the time trolling for some most fiesty fish. Got some Bonito to hit and fun to bring it. Memories for a lifetime for everyone and full bellies for 3 days afterwards with fresh catch prepared at local nearby restaurants for “Cook Your Catch” just extended the fun of the day we had the Capt Tony and Russ. We will be back!

10 Hour Trip – Mahi Mahi
Perfect day fishing with family
I am an experienced angler and have spent many days fishing. I wanted a day out where I could fish with my family instead of rigging baits etc. Tony put us on fish on the first drop and we stayed on fish for hours. The weather was perfect and the ocean was very calm. Perfect day fishing with my family that I got to fully enjoy. I could not have asked for anything better. Tony you and Robert are fantastic. I look forward to booking with you again. This trip is going to be really hard to out do though. Van and Family

Amazed
Hit limits and would have had more if other species was allowed. Came home with enough fish to fill a 48 qt cooler. 4 Mahi Mahi 1 43" 19" will be getting a wall mount. The biggest surprise A/C cabin ride . Even if we caught 1/2 the fish it would still been worth it. Captain and mate top notch. Between 4 anglers mate was on every un hook and baits. Not kidding I was amazed.
