Depending on conditions and time of year, you might hook into Marlin, Tuna, Wahoo, Mahi, Striped Bass, Bluefish, Bonito, Flounder, Black Seabass, Shark, Spanish Mackerel, and whatever else takes the bait. You’ll target your catch by trolling, chunking, or bottom fishing depending on the species.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Child-sized life vests are available, however you should bring your own if you feel it will be more comfortable. And, you can’t go wrong with snacks to stay fueled throughout your trip!
Your vessel for the day is a custom 50’ Buddy Davis Sportfish Express with a capacity for 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, a fighting chair, and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a private toilet on board for your convenience. Premium rods, reels, and tackle are included, as well as lures and bait.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. The mate works for tips and it’s customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for some fishing! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
A few items to bring include sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), bottled water, and a hat. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Captain Chris and his first mate Dylan were great! My family, including two young daughters, had an awesome time fishing on Allison’s Nightmare. The boat was immaculate and the captain had us “on the fish” all day. We had a great time on the water and caught several different species of fish. I was able to get some awesome pictures and make some wonderful memories. Allison’s Nightmare is hands down, our No. 1 Charter of choice in New Jersey! Thanks Captain Chris for an awesome time!

We thoroughly enjoyed our AM 6-hour inshore trip with Captain Chris, Dylan, and Dalton. We caught 4 Spanish mackerel within the first half hour, and rounded out the trip with 20 fish total (including bluefish, fluke, and sea bass). The weather was amazing, which admittedly the crew can’t take credit for, but if it hadn’t been, the boat offers ample shade, AC, and shelter if needed. We tried for some Mahi, but it wasn’t in the cards. The boat is big, fast, and comfortable. We will be booking again with them next year.
Captain Voss and his crew were amazing. It was a first time experience for 5 of our 6 members and they made sure we all had a great time, all caught fish... and had plenty of water for a hot July day :)

He is still active in the Merchant Marine as a Delaware Bay and River Pilot. Captain Chris has been fishing our local waters since he was a child.
