Strike Charters operates charters from Wrightsville Beach, Fort Fisher, Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, Southport, Oak Island, Bald Head Island, and the Cape Fear River.
Captain Drew Tyndall is a Wilmington, NC native and is a fully licensed and insured USCG Captain. Drew has been fishing the waters of the Cape Fear Region since he was a young boy. He developed a love for inshore fishing and has perfected his fishing-finding skills over the years. His experience will ensure you have a great day on the water! Drew is a fun guy with a great personality and will ensure you have a fun-filled day on the water!
Strike Charters focuses on shallow water fishing using light tackle. Species include Red Drum, Black Drum, Speckled Trout, Sheepshead, and Spotted Seatrout.
Kids are always welcome! Captain Drew is great with kids and loves teaching them how to fish! Be sure to confirm what size life jacket is needed for any small children. Children ages 12 and under must wear a life jacket while underway.
Strike Charters operates on a new (2026) 23' Sea Pro 230 dlx bay boat that is that can carry 1 to 4 anglers (or max 6 passengers). The boat is fully outfitted for inshore fishing and has everything you need for a great day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are all provided for you. Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so no extra expense for you.

Book your next charter with Drew and Strike Charters! You will not be disappointed! Drew has been fishing these waters for many years, learning all the hot spots and honey holes where the fish like to hang out. We met Drew at the Fort Fisher public boat ramp where he was waiting, having been out hours before catching bait for us to use on our trip. Drew has excellent fishing tackle for his customers- spinning rods spooled with braided line with Carolina rigs set up with one ounce sinkers and circle hooks. We left the boat ramp and Drew expertly navigated the multiple sand bars and shallow shoals and we were quickly positioned at one of his “spots.” His boat comfortably seating four passengers, has ample storage for our small coolers filled with snacks and beverages. I really loved the bow trolling motor which has gps positioning which keeps the boat where he wants it so we aren’t swinging with the currents. Drew baits our hooks and casts it out to where he thinks the fish are. Quickly we had fish on and battle to land the fish began. It was so much fun and Drew was a fantastic host, guide and Captain. Looking forward to our next booking with Strike Charters and Drew Tyndall.
Captain Drew with Strike Charters is the best hands down. I planed a 4 hour half day trip for my oldest daughter’s birthday. My wife and two daughters have never been inshore fishing till today and he delivered. He is very knowledgeable about the area and knows where to find the fish. Captain Drew was a patient man when it came to my family and kids asking all kinds of question. The Covington family was very impressed with the whole experience. We will be back and highly recommend Captain Drew with Strike Charters if you want to fish with the best!
If you’re looking for a charter that will provide you with exceptional equipement, and a great time, Drew should be your captain! He is very down to earth and has an extensive knowledge of salt water fishing in coastal NC. My fiancée booked Strike Charter for a birthday surprise for myself and her and it was nothing shy of a blast. We caught a variety of species from tarpon to red drum and even a small shark! We are both looking forward to booking with Strike Charter again soon!
We caught a couple of keeper Red Drum and quite a number of various fish that were fun to catch. Captain Drew is native to the area and knows the waterways really well. His boat is super nice with good space tomove around and the quietest motor I've ever heard. Highly recommend Strike Charters!

Drew's grandfather shared his love of fishing and the outdoors with Drew, and they spent many days fishing together. Drew has spent his entire life learning to fish the waters surrounding Wilmington and has perfected his fish finding skills over the years. Besides fishing, Drew enjoys working out, playing golf, duck hunting, and shooting. Drew also spent many years playing competitive baseball, including 2 years as a catcher at the D1 level. Drew is graduate of UNC Charlotte with a degree in Political Science but chose to follow his passion for fishing and founded Strike Charters in 2024.
