Drew Tyndall was born and raised in Wilmington, North Carolina. Drew has been an avid fisherman since he was a kid. Drew's grandfather shared his love of fishing and the outdoors with Drew, and they spent many days fishing together. Drew has spent his entire life learning to fish the waters surrounding Wilmington and has perfected his fish finding skills over the years. Besides fishing, Drew enjoys working out, playing golf, duck hunting, and shooting. Drew also spent many years playing competitive baseball, including 2 years as a catcher at the D1 level. Drew is graduate of UNC Charlotte with a degree in Political Science but chose to follow his passion for fishing and founded Strike Charters in 2024.

Half Day of Fishing Fun

Book your next charter with Drew and Strike Charters! You will not be disappointed! Drew has been fishing these waters for many years, learning all the hot spots and honey holes where the fish like to hang out. We met Drew at the Fort Fisher public boat ramp where he was waiting, having been out hours before catching bait for us to use on our trip. Drew has excellent fishing tackle for his customers- spinning rods spooled with braided line with Carolina rigs set up with one ounce sinkers and circle hooks. We left the boat ramp and Drew expertly navigated the multiple sand bars and shallow shoals and we were quickly positioned at one of his “spots.” His boat comfortably seating four passengers, has ample storage for our small coolers filled with snacks and beverages. I really loved the bow trolling motor which has gps positioning which keeps the boat where he wants it so we aren’t swinging with the currents. Drew baits our hooks and casts it out to where he thinks the fish are. Quickly we had fish on and battle to land the fish began. It was so much fun and Drew was a fantastic host, guide and Captain. Looking forward to our next booking with Strike Charters and Drew Tyndall.

Captain Drew with Strike Charters is the best hands down. I planed a 4 hour half day trip for my oldest daughter’s birthday. My wife and two daughters have never been inshore fishing till today and he delivered. He is very knowledgeable about the area and knows where to find the fish. Captain Drew was a patient man when it came to my family and kids asking all kinds of question. The Covington family was very impressed with the whole experience. We will be back and highly recommend Captain Drew with Strike Charters if you want to fish with the best!

If you’re looking for a charter that will provide you with exceptional equipement, and a great time, Drew should be your captain! He is very down to earth and has an extensive knowledge of salt water fishing in coastal NC. My fiancée booked Strike Charter for a birthday surprise for myself and her and it was nothing shy of a blast. We caught a variety of species from tarpon to red drum and even a small shark! We are both looking forward to booking with Strike Charter again soon!

Great trip for the kids!

captain Drew was great! had a really smooth ride and enjoyable day on the water. we fished several different spots and caught a bunch of different types of fish. When one spot slowed he moved us to another spot. he was good with showing the boys how to fish and coached them through their catches. The boat was really clean and rode smooth on the water. Can’t wait to get out there again with him!

Four fishing friends went on a half day fishing trip with Captain Drew. We had great weather, great friends and a great guide. Captain Drew knows these waters, knows the fish seasons and knows what bait to throw at them so you are on fish from start to finish. Definitely recommend booking Captain Drew Tyndall as soon as you can because he is in demand. You will be glad you did.
