Looking to go fishing in Bethany Beach? Make it happen, with Capt Ike II Charters! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain David can tell you all about them.
These waters are known for Bonito, Flounder, Thresher Shark, Whiting, Tautog, Black Seabass, Mahi Mahi, Weakfish, Dogfish, Bluefish, Spanish Mackerel, Little Tunny (False Albacore), and more – with any luck, it won’t take long to hook into some. You can expect to do some trolling, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
If you’re traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Snacks are permitted onboard — bring your favorites so that nobody gets cranky on an empty belly!
You’ll be fishing aboard a 40’ Custom Express sportfishing boat that holds up to 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
There’s no need to buy a fishing license, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
It’s always wise to bring sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and a hat. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
