Salty Pleasure Boating
Looking to catch some fish in huntington Beach? Salty Pleasure Boating is here to make it happen! With Captain Carter at the helm, you're in knowledgeable and experienced hands.
Depending on the season, you might hook into Halibut, Albacore Tuna, Bigeye Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Rockfish, Sculpin, and whatever else is biting. On these trips, you can expect to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Capt. Carter also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear. For the more adventurous among you, there's spearfishing.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Don't forget to bring snacks for a boost of energy when needed! You'll find yourself aboard a 21' Triumph center console with space for 6 passengers. It comes with a fighting chair, and all the essentials. Rods and reels are not supplied for you, so ask the captain about bringing your own or renting some for an extra cost. Be sure to ask about bait and lures as well.
Before coming aboard, it will be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
Some essentials to bring are sunblock (non-spray), sunglasses, and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

We had an amazing experience! The captain was outstanding at guiding us and explaining everything throughout the trip. He came fully prepared and put us right on the fish literally first drop, helping us catch the largest fish we’ve ever caught—a White Sea Bass! He took the time to explain the proper way to clean and fillet the fish, and even bagged everything up for us before we headed home. Thanks to his guidance, we were able to bring it home and prepare fresh ceviche. His knowledge, professionalism, and willingness to teach made the entire experience memorable. We highly recommend him and can’t wait to book another trip!

Thank you so much for the incredible review! We’re thrilled to hear you had such a memorable experience on the water with us. Catching a White Sea Bass on the first drop is always exciting, and we're glad we could help put you on the fish and make the most of the opportunity. We believe that every trip should be more than just fishing—it should be an experience where you learn new skills, gain confidence on the water, and create lasting memories. It was our pleasure to show you the proper way to clean and fillet your catch, and we're happy to hear you were able to take it home and turn it into fresh ceviche. That's what it's all about! Thank you again for trusting us with your fishing adventure. We truly appreciate the recommendation and look forward to getting you back out on the water for another great trip soon. Tight lines! — Captain Austin & the Salty Pleasure Boating Team
We booked a 4-hour private deep-sea fishing charter for our visiting family, and it was the absolute highlight of their trip. The captain and crew were incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and great with everyone on board. They provided top-notch gear and knew exactly where the fish were biting. If you're looking for a smooth, exciting, and memorable fishing trip in Southern California, this is the one to book. We will definitely be back! Highly recommended!
Our Captain for the day, Erik, was amazing. He came fully prepared and ready to hit the water for some fishing. He got us into some great spots that helped us catch a sheephead and great sized bass. It was a great day for fishing. Trust in the captians and they will get you to where you need to go!
We had a wonderful experience. Captain Eric was knowledgeable, personal and fun to be around. He worked really well with the three 15 year old boys we brought on the trip and helped them find the fish. I would highly recommend them and will definitely be booking again in the future.

Losing it was my fault, but great trip beyond the headline! Caught plenty of fish, along with a monster sheepshead in my group of four. Austin was an awesome captain.
