Amberjack, Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Black Grouper, Gag Grouper, Red Grouper, Scamp Grouper, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Lane Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Red Snapper, and more inhabit these waters, depending on when you go. During the trip, you might be light tackle fishing, trolling, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. And, you can't go wrong with snacks to keep their stamina going!
Your adventure begins aboard a 45' Hatteras sportfishing vessel that holds up to 6 passengers. It has outriggers and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
It's never a bad idea to bring sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

From the moment we stepped aboard The Boat, we felt completely at home. The crew was professional, friendly, and made sure everyone had a great time. We’ve booked a lot of charters over the years, but after this trip, the search is officially over—Bad Habit Charters is our go-to from now on. We caught tons of fish throughout the day, but the highlight for me was checking off a true bucket list moment: catching not one, but two sharks! It was thrilling and something I’ll never forget. We did the 4 hour mackerel trip, and it was awesome! My wife, and I took two 12 year old boys with us, and the trip was exactly what we wanted for their first time out! We were only a few fish from limiting out! Tyler, and Steve were great to fish with! Next year we will definitely go out longer!
