Fly High Fishing Charters
If you’re ready to enjoy fishing in Montague, we’ve got you covered with Fly High Fishing Charters. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Adam can tell you all about the local fishery.
These waters are known for Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Walleye, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, and more – with any luck, you’ll find out for yourself! On these trips, it’s common to troll.
Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Feel free to bring your own snacks to keep ‘em happy!
You’ll be dropping lines from a 21’ Lund aluminum fishing boat with a capacity for 4 passengers. It comes with downriggers and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are ready for you, along with lures. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates often work for tips and it’s customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
Before coming aboard, it will be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
You can’t go wrong when you bring bottled water, sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
