If you’re ready to start fishing in Pottsboro, look no further than Bucks Fishing Guide Service. Captain Jason will be your guide, so you’ll benefit from years of local experience.

Depending on conditions, you might hook into Catfish, Striped Bass, and anything else that bites. The Captain prefers to drift for Catfish or lure fish for Stripers.

Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks!

Capt. Jason will bring you aboard a 24’ Manitou pontoon boat with space for 4 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Capt. Jason has rods and reels for you, as well as lures.

Before coming aboard, you will be required to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.

Don’t forget to bring sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks included on board.

Perfect afternoon fishing trip!

Captain Jason took great care of us while on his boat. My wife and I took our 10 year old grandaughter on this trip and Captain Jason made sure she caught plenty of catfish. About the time late evening when the striper started turning on she caught at least a 50 lb channel cat. Captain Jason wanted to put us on the striper but I called “calf rope!” we were all worn out from catching catfish. Captain Jason cleaned our fish and headed back to the Lake Texoma RV Resort which is only 5 minutes from Captain Jason’s boat slip at Highport Marina. I also highly recommend Lake Texoma RV Resort.

2nd Trip

This was our 2nd trip with captain Jason. He informed us the striped bass fishing was off due to the spring flooding. He put us on our the perfect fishing spot and we caught our limit of big healthy striped bass. This was my girlfriend’s second time fishing ( both with captain Jason ) and she caught two nice stripers on her own with no help which made our trip. Then we went drifting for catfish which was a blast with 6 nice eating sized catfish caught. We recommend booking a trip with captain Jason from Bucks fishing guide service.

Great fishing trip

Me and my 3 fishing buddies had the best time fishing together. Our captain was knowledgeable about the lake and the fish. We learned a lot about the lake and its fish. We had such a great time and we told all our friends and family about it 🎉🙏👍 We all look forward to going out again with our captain. August fishing trip

We enjoyed our trip with Captain Jason. The fishing was very slow due to recent flooding but Captain Jason did his best to put us on the fish. He seemed very knowledgeable about the lake and I’m confident that we would have done very well had the fish been more willing to bite. I would definitely recommend a trip with Captain Jason and I would like to go another trip with him in the future.

Slow fish day

Half Day Trip (AM) on July 18, 2025 • 2 adults

Days started early 6am before sun up which was perfect. We headed out to the shallowes for top water fishing with proved poles and lures after about an hrs or 2 of casting drifting and moving our captain decided to try another location which paid of with him catching the first stipper. After a few casts we moved a very active area where a feeding frenzy began and he was being cautious to move correctly when another angler swooped right into the middle of the frenzy scaring all the fish ack to the deeps. So we decided to switch to catfish bottom fishing while moving to that area the captain allowed me to troll fish and I caught the 3rd stripper of the moring. For the last 2hrs of the trip we catfishes with luck had a few sizeable bite but no action. So it was time to call a day. Even thought the were slow to bite and not bite we still would consider this a successful trip we had time to relax enjoy the sun and we all told stories about past fishing adventures. All in all I would highly recommend booking a trip with Jason. We willing be planning another trip in fall for another fishing trip and will most likely choose this charter again.
