Blue/ White Marlin, Sailfish, Bluefin/Yellowfin/Bigeye/Blackfin Tuna, Mahi, Wahoo, and many more Big gamefish can be caught in these waters:
Reely Catchy Sportfishing is equipped with the latest tackle to handle all offshore and nearshore species. This includes Tiagra 130W/80W/50W and Penn 70 VIIS when specifically targeting Tuna on the troll. We use a mix of Shimano Talica '50s, Tiagra '30s through '80s, Ocean Runners, and BFC's for daily trolling use which will handle everything from Mahi, Tuna, and Billfish, including the Blue Marlin.
Our bottom fishing package includes everything from electric reels to lightweight Ocean Runner 12 IIs with Shimano Trevala rods.
For bailing Dolphin we use high-end spinning tackle that includes Shimano and St. Croix rods coupled with Shimano Stratic and Saragosa reels from 4000 a 10000 class.
Additionally, Reely Catchy Sportfishing can deploy a green stick to target Tunas when they get shy on the troll, an experience that is totally unique for most charter groups.
Children are welcome, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! Child-sized life vests are available. Don't forget to bring snacks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
You'll be casting, trolling or live baiting lines from a Ray Davis 53' Sportfishing boat that holds up to 6 passengers — equipped with outriggers, downriggers and a fighting chair to crank in the big one.
Rods, reels, and tackle are provided, as well as lures. Live bait is included.

What an incredible deep sea fishing trip! Captain Carter and Jason were absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. They worked tirelessly to put us on the fish, and thanks to their expertise, we caught a lot of fish, including two sailfish and mahi. They made the entire experience fun, exciting, and unforgettable for our family. To top it all off, they coordinated with Salt & Cypress to have our fresh catch cooked for dinner, and it was one of the best meals we’ve ever had. From the fishing to the incredible customer service, everything exceeded our expectations. Our whole family loved every minute of this trip, and we highly recommend booking with Carter and Jason. We’ll definitely be back!
We had a great trip overall. Leaving the dock shortly after 4 AM allowed us to reach the fishing grounds and have lines in the water before 7 o’clock. The seas were a bit sportier than the weather predicted, but the boat handled it well. Captain Carter and mate Jason worked hard to find fish, were fun to fish with and worked well together. We had five hook ups and were able to land to very nice yellowfin tuna. The boat was without air-conditioning the day we went, but that should not be relevant to anyone reading this review for future trips. Thanks for a great day!
We really enjoyed the Reely Catchy 6 hour charter out of Manteo. The captain gave us the options to cancel since the weather was cold and windy with 6 foot sweels predicted. We wanted to proceed. We tried bottom fishing and moved on to trolling. Captain Carter and FM Jason worked hard to put us on fish. We brought home Spanish Mackerel and Blue Fish. They cleaned everything and made it easy. Thanks gentlemen!

Fishing and working on the water run through his veins, Capt. Carter has spent almost every day working on the Chesapeake and in the mid-Atlantic region in one way or another since he was 13. Carter has set sail for Wanchese Harbor and is extremely prepared. He is an exceptionally fishy and instinctual fisherman. No matter what 100% of his effort will be put into whatever he does Capt. Carter is an entertainer and a great captain to spend a day on the water with! Our Mate Jayson Meyers grew up fishing the Chesapeake Bay as a boy and started fishing out of Ocean City MD in the 1980s for Tuna and Billfish in the Canyons from the Spencer to the Norfolk. Much of Jayson's experience comes from fishing with Captain John Brobst who fished and ran charters out of OC in the Shelly II and worked and fished with Jayson in MD and the Bahamas. Jayson has been fishing the summers in NC since 2018 on the Omie Tillet built Salvation, and Joins Captain Carter Dudzinski in Wanchese for a new chapter aboard the classic Ray Davis 'Reel Catchy'.
