If you're going to drop a line in Henderson Harbor look no further than On The Spot Sportfishing. With Captain Dan at the helm, you'll have a knowledgeable and experienced captain.
Depending on the season, you might hook into Smallmouth Bass, Brown Trout, Yellow Perch, Lake Trout, Northern Pike, Atlantic Salmon, Coho Salmon, Chinook Salmon, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Walleye, and plenty more. On these trips, it's common to troll.
Families making of a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Snacks are never a bad idea to keep 'em happy!
Your vessel for the day is a 22' Angler walkaround with a capacity for 2 adults or 1 adult and 2 kids. comes with planer boards, down riggers, and all the essentials. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
You will need to buy a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain.
Don't forget to bring bottled water, sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid glass bottles.
This boat does not have a head 'toilet ' on board.

Great trip!

We arrived at the dock to find it clean and well maintained. The Captain came to greet us and I knew it was going to be a good day. Both he and his first mate were pleasant, knowledgeable and just really good people. The boat was well maintained, stocked and the perfect size for a party of 2. Our trip was cut a bit short due to rain but we did catch fish. The cherry on top of our trip was how the captain narrated different facts and interesting information about the lake, islands, and fish/wildlife. His enthusiasm for fishing and nature showed just how much Henderson means to him. I can't wait to go back.

Awesome Fishing Trip

My 15 year old brother and I took a fishing trip with Captain Dan and his 1st mate Tashia…and wow did we land a lot of fish! 17 fish in an 8 hour trip! 2 nice size Walleye and 15 bass, many of the bass weighing 3-4 lbs! Captain Dan was extremely knowledgeable and very familiar with some prime fishing spots on Lake Ontario and while numerous other boats were struggling to land fish, Captain Dan helped us bag and land some monsters, including a 29” Walleye! Besides the spectacular fishing, cruising around Lake Ontario and having a lot of laughs with Captain Dan and Tashia was also a highlight…I can’t recommend them enough!!!

This fishing trip was a 40th anniversary gift from my wife. She wanted our oldest son to join me and what a great time. Always dreamed of fishing Lake Ontario and On the Spot Sportfishing made it come true. Captain Dan and first mate Tasha are a great team. Felt like fishing with old friends. Got our limit of lake trout landing an impressive catch. Although I have fished almost 60 years, I was able to learn more fishing facts etc.from Dan and Tasha. They also gave a great effort at catching brown trout or salmon but just didn't happen. But even the search was exciting. Having the fish filleted dockside is such a great plus too. My son and I are already talking about another trip late summer or fall.

Captain Dan was a true pro from pre trip to cleaning our fish at the dock, and everything in between. He came up with a clear plan that he communicated to us before the trip, adjusted accordingly when the browns didn’t bite to start the morning, and sent us home with sore arms, and some great fish stories for our first time out of Henderson.
His first mate, Tasha was very kind and helpful, and helped keep us on top of the fish. We enjoyed both of their company and expertise, and truly could go on and on about these true pros, and I know we will even after we return home to Pennsylvania at the end of the weekend

Capt. Dan and First Mate Tasha took great care of us! We started off on the salmon hunt, but switched over to Lakers and we clobbered them. Capt. Dan was super attentive and worked hard throughout. We switched back to salmon and picked up a King! And to close out the afternoon Capt. set us up to try for Browns. And to wrap up the day the On the Spot Team cleaned up our fish to perfection. My Son and I were super pleased with On the Spot - we had a blast and it was one of our Best ever trips.
