Depending on conditions, you might hook into Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, White Bass, Bowfin, Carp, Bullhead, Crappie, Northern Pike, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Sheepshead, Walleye, and who knows what else! On the day of your trip, you're likely to be actively casting using spinning gear using various methods. All experiences are welcome! Capt. Michael also offers fly fishing.
Trips with Healy Outdoors are child-friendly, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Snacks are never a bad idea for a boost of energy when needed!
You'll be welcome aboard an 18' Lowe dual console that holds up to 3 anglers. It has downriggers and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is offered upon request and for beginners.
Before coming aboard, you will be required to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species we catch may not be in season just yet, all regulations are stricly enforced so make sure you know what to expect.
Don't leave home without bottled water, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Now and then the fish might get away, but a day on the water never should. Time to make it happen, with Healy Outdoors!

Came with my 12 year old son for a weekend and Michael made the trip worth it. Knowledgeable, patient, can fix birds nests like it nobody’s business. Kept us on the water well beyond the 6 hours. Highly recommended especially if you have kids. No doubt we will be back again with Michael in the near future. Much appreciated and such. Great guy. Thanks
Mike was a great and knowledgeable guide. We made our way up and down the Little Salmon River. It was booked as a 3-hour trip, but Mike kept my son and I out there close to 5 hours because the bite was off early in the morning. We caught several bass (a few biggies) and a couple of pickerel. It was a really fun time. I highly recommend booking with him!
