Steven Lockenspecializes in fishing the waters around Dana Point and invites you along for a trip to remember.

Here you won't be far from inshore waters, including a few honeyholes that only the locals can clue you in on.

Around here it's common to go light tackle fishing, which is how you'll get acquainted with these waters. You may also jig and bottom fish, bottom fish, spin or cast a popping cork,  for your catch. Steven will provide rods and reels, as well as lures and live bait.

Pacific Barracuda,  Calico Bass, California Sheephead, Halibut, Rays, Sand Bass, White Seabass, Mako Shark, Thresher Shark, Leopard Shark, and more are in the cards if you cast your line at the right time of year.

Fish within size and bag limits are yours to take home. Steven even offers clean your catch for you so it's ready to fry up at home or even better, on the spot. Now that's a fresh meal! Groups of up to 8 are welcome on these excursions. You'll make your way to the fishing grounds on foot, so dress accordingly and bring only as much as you can carry.

Your fishing license for the day is not included, so members of your group may need to buy one . You can find out more online, including exceptions that may apply. Layered clothing and appropriate footwear are always encouraged (if you aren't sure what that means, just ask). It's never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, sunscreen, and bottled water, rain or shine.

Steven will have some snacks and drinks for you. This is a kid-friendly experience, so feel free to bring 'em along and pack any snacks or extra clothing they need.
