When I chose Miss Molly, she wasn't least expensive nor most expensive, but 28 yrs in this business and larger boat than most. But here's the thing, I felt her pride of craft without the ego, bravado or competitiveness of several of my other choices! I simply wanted to cross my very first item on my bucket list for 42 yrs now, catch a shark! didn’t care how big or small nor the species. So reviewing the weatherbug app and communication from Miss Molly about heavier winds in the afternoon, would I want to join 6am trip instead. I explained it really couldn't work with our schedule, and she said, "Ok". However, my wife had let Miss Molly know, wasn't interested in any other fish, only sharks! This is where the fun starts.... in her and Capt. Bruce's generosity, even though I paid fee for one of 5 fishermen, I got Captain Miss Molly and Captain Bruce ALL TO MYSELF!!! A 500% increased value that I couldn't have afforded even though my desires were selfishly my own, they didn’t do what I saw some other guides do in my past, CANCEL the trip! They did NOT do that, and I was gobsmacked at their generosity, AND how beautiful of people these two are!!! So before Monday, I prayed for 3 things, 1. That the waters would be calm and still; 2. If possible, I'd catch a bigger than normal shark, and 3. that I wouldn't get my usual seasickness. PRAYER WORKS, as did my patch I asked my Dr to prescribe for me, he did!!! Where she took us was roughly 50 minutes at 12 mph, and both her and Capt Bruce could NOT believe the calmness, I confessed to praying! And as they put rods out, we got a false bite on first rod, but 2nd bite was LEGIT! I got put onto a chunky fish, but the way it fought, thought it might be a halibut, or a ray?! Super strong, not even like a Red, really strong, but low and behold, it was a VERY large Leopard Shark!!! And a few times it managed to wiggle loose and onto deck, it was right out of Lethal Weapon scene LOL 😆 BUT honestly, we could have returned to base!!! Of course we didn't, but doggone it, Miss Molly lived up to my expectations and so far beyond! I know from buddies, fishing for sharks WITHOUT CHUM, can be hours and hours of waiting and more praying! Not here with Miss Molly, we weren't in the water but maybe 6 minutes before I was on my dream shark! But even whilst waiting on the gate for her to bring me aboard, I saw a mother and daughter coming up with bags of fish meat to send home! They both had huge smiles, so I guessed, "Were you out with Miss Molly?" They were, but with those smiles, my question was all but rhetorical! I was even more excited as they recounted the highlights of their trip!!! I digress, next we got onto a brown smooth-hound shark! So not only did I get one species of shark, now I got TWO! I ended up catching 4 of those plus my "Boat Record" Leopard Shark, estimated at 4 to 4½ ft, possibly 50+ lbs too!!! After that we all decided to try for some other species, and before you know it, time to head back to Harbor! BUT one of the live bait bites I had just off the bridge, I felt MASSIVE flat fish POWER!!! Unfortunately I didn’t convert to a solid hook-up, but that was on me alone!!! So here's the bottom-line, IF you want to feel like a VIP, IF you want two incredible people guiding you, and IF you want to avoid any ego or competitiveness, and she has a spot open??? Choose Captain Miss Molly and Captain Bruce, just the boat ride and conversations alone were worth it, I kid you not, no matter what, Lord willing I'll have many future opportunities to return for another one, but lets be honest, you and I both know I'm gonna try and do an individual all day with these two out to sea for Tigers or Great Whites Hahahaha 😆

Captain Molly is a great communicator, has everything you need and most importantly has amazing energy. Bruce brought a lifetime of experience and a love of the game and especially sharing the experience. I’m early in my fishing journey and I learned a lot! All you need is a good attitude, open ears and your lunch. They put us in the right place, had us presenting bait the right way and we caught some gorgeous salmon. Even if I came back empty handed I would have written a rave review. It was a wonderful experience with an exceptional crew. I’ll definitely keep Miss Molly in mind the next time I’m looking for a charter.

Captain Molly was very friendly and easy to communicate with. Her boat was in excellent condition. She was very accommodating and made sure that the trip was tailored to our enjoyment. Her fishing experts, Captain Bruce and Captain Peter were excellent fisherman that were very patient with us. They communicated clearly and provided excellent instruction on what to do while trying to catch a salmon. When we were actually reeling them in, they helped us every step of the process, without their help I think it is safe to say that we would have lost most the fish, but we caught every bite. Upon return to the dock, they filleted the salmon for us. Bruce took his time to cut it expertly and explained which parts of the fish would be best for various uses, i.e. eating raw and smoking. The advice was great and the fish has been delicious thus far.

I don’t know how to properly describe the fishing trip we had on Molly’s Boat without sounding like I’m making it up — because honestly, if I hadn’t been there, I wouldn’t believe it either. Let me set the scene… We boarded Molly’s Boat at the crack of dawn — groggy, under-caffeinated, and wildly overconfident. Armed with coolers, snacks, questionable sun hats, and an unwavering belief that we were born to fish, we set off into the briny deep. Little did we know… we were about to enter Fish Valhalla. THE ROCKFISH RENAISSANCE: I don’t know what magic potion Molly’s Boat runs on — possibly a blend of diesel and Poseidon’s tears — but the moment we dropped our lines, the ocean practically handed us fish. Rockfish after rockfish after rockfish. It was like they were volunteering for dinner. Seriously, I started feeling guilty. One of them looked me in the eye like, “It’s been an honor, captain.” I saluted. We named him Gerald. He now lives in the freezer. At one point, the ocean trembled. Birds scattered. A hush fell over the boat. I felt a tug so powerful I thought I’d hooked a submarine or a disgruntled sea god. After a 15-minute struggle, sweat pouring from my brow and three people cheering me on like I was in the final round of the WWE, I pulled in… the LARGEST ROCKFISH EVER RECORDED BY MORTAL MAN. Okay, maybe not technically ever recorded, but this thing was so big it had a zip code. It looked like it had a mortgage and a LinkedIn profile. We high-fived, we cried, I may have dislocated a shoulder — but it was glorious. AND THEN — WHALES. Just when we thought it couldn’t get better — just when the fish had stopped biting out of sheer respect — the ocean gave us a bonus round: a whale watching show worthy of a National Geographic documentary narrated by Morgan Freeman. Three humpback whales appeared off the port side (nautical term, nailed it), breaching like they’d been paid to put on a show. One even waved its flipper at us. I waved back. We shared a moment. I named him Carl. I miss him. FINAL THOUGHTS: Molly’s Boat isn’t just a fishing charter — it’s a full-blown odyssey. A wild, hilarious, oceanic fever dream where the fish are plenty, the vibes are immaculate, and even the whales RSVP. I’d give it 6 out of 5 stars if I could. Our fishing trip with Miss Molly was nothing short of incredible. It was just me and my 11-year-old son, and from start to finish, everything went super smoothly. Molly created such a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere that we immediately felt at ease. What truly stood out was how amazing she was with my son. She patiently showed him how everything worked—from casting the line to reeling in the fish—and he was absolutely hyped! His excitement was contagious, and watching him light up as we caught a beautiful fish was a moment I’ll never forget. Molly’s knowledge, kindness, and easygoing nature made this a perfect experience. It wasn’t just a fishing trip—it was a memory we’ll both treasure forever. Thank you, Miss Molly!
