Looking to catch some fish in Civitavecchia? Simon Fishing Adventures is your ticket! Your guide for the day is Captain Simone, which allows you to benefit from years of angling experience.

Around here it's common to catch Bonito, Mahi Mahi, Dentex, Bluefish, Barracuda, Dusky Grouper, Little Tunny (False Albacore), European Seabass, Swordfish, Bluefin Tuna, and more if conditions are right. You'll target your catch by spinning, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.

Your adventure begins aboard a 19' xl Marine Site center console that can carry up to 3 anglers in perfect comfort, every year we change the main engine, a suzuki 100hp, to offer more reliability and safety to our guest, plus we have a 6hp suzuki for slow trolling and to increase safety. It comes with all the essentials. Rods, reels, and tackle are ready for you. Live bait is included, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.

Before coming aboard, you may need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.

You can't go wrong when you bring sunblock (non-spray), a hat, and sunglasses. There will be drinks and snacks included, as well typical lunch and products from the area, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own or you want a lunch on request. Alcohol is allowed in moderation.

Simon Fishing Adventures will make it easy for you to go fishing in Civitavecchia. So, how about booking that trip?

Unforgettable Day at Sea – Great Captain, Great Catch!
DRIFTING bluefin tunas on August 14, 20252 adults
We had an unforgettable day out on the water in Civitavecchia! From start to finish, everything was perfect. Our Captain Simone provided delicious food, cold drinks, and great company. He made us feel welcome and at ease the entire trip. The highlight was landing a massive 30-kilo bluefin tuna — truly a once-in-a-lifetime catch! The boat was well-equipped, and everything ran smoothly. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend this charter to anyone visiting Italy and looking for an incredible day of fishing

It's been a pleasure having you guys on board the Nomad. Even if at that moment there was not a great activity we managed to land and release a fish, we had fun, relax and sun. I hope to see you soon for other great adventures

Too expensive, disappointment
BIG GAME - bluefin tuna - extended on June 1, 20262 adults
I paid for the most expensive tour, an 8-hour bluefin tuna experience for my boyfriend because I knew he'd love the chance to catch a big fish. I didn't mind the high cost if it would make him happy, so I spent my entire paycheck on it, expecting the experience that was advertised. I understand fishing is unpredictable, and it's not Simon's fault that we didn't catch anything; but we didn't get a single bite all day, and the trip wasn't what was described. The listing said we'd be jigging, spinning, and actively fishing, but we never touched the rods once. We trolled all day, didn't use live bait like advertised, and Simon did all the hooking himself. We basically weren't involved in the fishing at all. On top of that, he took us out on an unregistered boat and told us to lie to the police if we were stopped. After spending hundreds of euros and catching nothing, we asked if he could lower the extra price. We offered €300 to cover his fuel and time, but he was rude about it and only offered a €27 discount, acting like it was extremely generous. Overall, we left with no fish, no fishing experience, just seasickness and disappointment. Don't waste your time with this tour, invest in a 'no fish no pay' tour instead.

Dear Amelia, honestly, I can understand that you can be a little sad and disappointed because we didn't catch anything, but offering a no pay for the trip and leaving a bad review just because I didn't accept this request is very childish and offensive to me and my job (because this is a job). Indeed, when we got off the boat you told me you didn't want to pay because we didn't catch anything, but as I explained is called fishing and not catching, and as you are very young and as I understand your effort I offered you at the end the little discount as you said in your review. We drift for 9 miles, checking the entire water column from 195mt depth to 70mt depth, using the double amount of sardines I usually use trying to atttact some tunas around. I took you to the best tuna spot we have in my area, but unfortunatly not catching can happen sometimes. The specific trip you booked didn't advertise live baits because they are not used in this period. Also spinning and jigging was not advertise in the description of the trip you booked. A free pick up and drop off from the railway station to the port and back have been offer to you for free, while you are supposed to meet me at the boat. A bigger boat has been offered to you without paying a single cent more, all the papers are ok. You came, despite my messages, without licenses done, so in order to cover your back and let you enjoy the day, I told you to say we were friends fishing together. You have been throwing on the boat food and spilling soft drinks which required a deep cleaning of the boat at the end of the day. I have not been rude one single second, I just explained to you in a polite way the reasons why you had to pay the amount of the trip, been rude is not in my nature otherwise I would not made you the 27euros discount, which never happened in my carreer and It won't happen anymore. Last but not least you had not been involved in the fishing and hooking on your request, because as you told me you travelled all night long by bus and you were very tired, so as soon as we got into the boat, you prefer to lay down with your boyfriend and you slept nearly all day in the sun (I even offered you some sunscreen because you didn't have it, just to underline my 'rude nature').

A lovely half day trip with Captain Simone!
GROUPER & DENTEX on May 9, 2025
I spent a great day fishing with Captain Simone and we even managed to hook a grouper on vertical fishing! He has an impressive knowledge of the area and of various fishing techniques, and his tackle is really good. Oh, and moreover, I had some local gourmet focaccia which was sooooo yummy! I will definitely love to go out fishing with this guy again!
