Reel Adventures Sportfishing
This half day, afternoon excursion will give you a sample of what the west coast can offer.
If you've never been salmon fishing, this is the chance to 'get your feet wet' so to speak.
Our afternoon trips will usually stick closer to shore or inside the islands, and target mainly salmon, although rock cod and Ling cod could be a possibility.
If you're ready to experience fishing in Ucluelet, we've got you covered with Reel Adventures Sportfishing. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Kerry can tell you all about them.
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Rockfish, Lingcod, and whatever else is biting. For these species, you're likely to troll or jig.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks to ward off any mid-trip fatigue!
Your excursion begins aboard a 28' NorthWest Aluminum pilothouse with space for 6 passengers. It comes with downriggers, all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are provided, along with lures.
You will need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
Don't forget to bring sunscreen (non-spray), sunglasses, and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Ucluelet, British Columbia, Canada
Growing up in the Kootenays has its advantages. With almost every weekend being out camping with his family and fishing with his dad and grandparents, the owner and operator Kerry Reed became exposed to this outdoor lifestyle already as a child. He fished with passion as a kid and he still does. And so was Reel Adventures born in 1998. After experiencing the excitement of reeling in big fish regularly, he felt it was time to start sharing the excitement with others. Starting out with one boat and guide on Kootenay Lake and then adding a smaller boat for the Columbia River, he slowly started to build his business. Today, after years of enjoying the fishery, Reel Adventures has expanded the business and incorporated a whole network of boats and guides for a whole new network of lakes and rivers, as well as added the west coast Salmon fishery to its resume. With the added boats and guides, it can now offer corporate retreats and handle groups of any size.
