Spend the day with GQ Charters and find out what the fishing in Saco is all about! Your guide for the day is Captain Eric, which allows you to benefit from years of angling experience.

The fish in these waters include Striped Bass, Haddock, Cod, Blue Shark, Mako Shark, Porbeagle Shark, Thresher Shark, Pollock, Bluefish, and more with any luck. You can expect to do some light tackle fishing, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.

Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Feel free to bring your own snacks!

Your fishing machine for the day is a 28’ Hydra-Sports center console that holds up to 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.

There’s no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain.

Don’t forget to bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks for you on board.

8 hr Shark Fishing Trip

8 Hour Trip – Sharks on August 2, 2025 • 4 adults

We had an incredible experience on our recent 8-hour shark fishing charter! From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. Captain Erik was fantastic, laid back, friendly, polite, and so easy to talk to. He made everyone feel welcome and at ease. The boat itself was beautiful, clean, and well-stocked with snacks and drinks, which was such a nice touch. We caught both fish and shark, which made the day even more exciting. It was a perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. This trip was such a memorable experience for our whole family, we’re already talking about booking again next year. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun, well-run fishing charter. We’ll definitely be back! See you next time ~ The Humphreys

Best charter in southern Maine

4hr Striper trip evening on July 30, 2025 • 4 adults

I’ve tried several different charters from Casco bay to Saco, Capt. Eric and GQ charters were the best by far. He is extremely knowledgeable about the local waters, got us out fishing right away, and supplied us with all the information we needed to have a great day. He’s also just a blast to talk to. He kept us on the fish all day, netting 8 stripers including 4 oversized, 2 keepers and even one 42” cow. There was never a dull moment, and we fished basically every second of the four hour trip. I can’t recommend this charter enough.

6 Hour Trip – Striped Bass on July 11, 2025 • 5 adults

My family of 5 including 3 young adult sons had a spectacular time with Capt Erik. He was clear in rules of safety before we got under way and was very accommodating with teaching us how to use the equipment to ensure we had a successful trip. We caught 8 fish between the 5 of us thanks to Capt Erik’s knowledge and expertise on knowing where the fish were. I would definitely recommend booking a charter with GQ.

Excellent fishing experience with Tons of stripers!

4 Hour Trip - Striped Bass on September 16, 2025 • 2 adults

Eric is a real expert and knows what he is doing! This was a highlight of our Maine trip and we had stripers for dinner a few nights after, plus to bring back. We went on a good day and caught many stripers, including a huge 41" fish and even my partner who has never fished before got a 40" one (releasing these of course). Eric helped us get amazing photos and to fillet the fish afterwards.

4 Hour Trip - Striped Bass on August 12, 2025 • 3 adults

My husband and I went on this trip with our 16-year-old son and his friend, and we all absolutely loved it! Captain Eric was fantastic—he spent time talking with the boys and teaching them about different types of fishing. It was such a great family experience, and we’ll definitely be doing this again. We even were able to bring home our catch all clean. Thank you so much!
