Around here, fishing is famous for Walleye, Salmon, and Lake Trout, but Smallmouth Bass is world-class; as a matter of fact, it just ranked #1 in the US.

You can target these Smallmouth by spinning, trolling, drifting, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Rick also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.

Capt. Rick welcomes children aboard so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also, remember to bring snacks!

Capt. Rick runs a 21’ Skeeter center console that can carry up to 4 passengers. It comes with fishing chairs, all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Rods, reels, and tackle are included, along with lures.

Before coming aboard, it will be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a particular tag, so make sure you know what to expect or ask Capt Rick.

Some essentials to bring are sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), and a hat. Bottled water and ice will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Captain Rick graduated from Bowling Green State University and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army. He retired after 25 years of active duty service as a Lieutenant Colonel. Rick and his family moved to Naples, Florida, where he guides for peacock bass during the winter and guides in Upstate NY during the summer and fall.
