You’re likely to go after Striped Bass, Bluefish, Spanish Mackerel, Catfish, White Perch, and more. During the trip you might be spinning, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks so that everyone stays happy and energized!
Your day begins aboard a 25’ Parker pilothouse with a capacity for 4 passengers. It comes with outriggers, and all the essentials. Rods, reels, and tackle are provided, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
It’s recommended to bring a hat, sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

He was great with the kids, knowledgeable about where to catch fish, taught us some history as we sailed and we left feeling like expert fishermen! We caught lotsssss of fish! I was hoping my kids will at least catch 1 each - my 4yr old caught the first fish, my 8 year old caught probably 10 fish and overall we left with enough fish to share with friends! Fun experience and we cant wait to fish with Capt. Scott again very soon.

5 Hour Trip – Striped Bass (AM) on July 13, 2024Fishing with Captain Scott Backlash Outdoor Adventure was an awesome experience. From the very first communication to returning back at the dock and cleaning the catch. Prior to the charter Captain Scott does due diligence by scouting and talking to other captains to locate the target fish in order to give you the best experience possible Backlash is a modern boat with new equipment unlike other charters I’ve been on. Captain Scout’s not only a jovial seasoned fishing captain but he is very knowledge on the history of the Chesapeake Bay and his tributaries. He took us on a guided very nice tour as time allowed. And It was very much appreciated. Backlash Outdoor Adventure is a family-friendly positive experience that I highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you, Captain Scott!

5 Hour Trip – Striped Bass (PM) on August 23, 2025 • 4 adultsMe my girlfriend and my parents all went out for an outing with captain Scott and he made it very enjoyable he’s very easy to converse with and a great guy all around, he took us to two spots and we caught 6 fish total between 4 people we caught some big ones and plenty to keep overall it was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to try an outing on the bay and catch some rockfish !
