These waters are known for Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Blackfin Tuna, Yellowtail Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Black Grouper, Gag Grouper, Snowy Grouper, and more . Depending on the species you're after, you may find yourself spinning, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Charlie can also have you kite fishing.

If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children under 6 years-old must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. You're welcome to bring snacks to stay fueled throughout your trip!

Capt. Charlie operates a 34' SeaVee Center console with capacity for 4 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.

Bottled water is provided. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Amazing Fishing Trip!

Full Day Trip on February 16, 2026 • 4 adults

We booked a full day with Tackle Center, with Captain Charlie Scobel, who I highly recommend. The boat was perfect, Captain Scobel was amazing!  He had everything set up for us and we had the perfect fishing day with him. From catching the live bait to kite fishing for sailfish, Captain Scobel was outstanding and my family of 4 could not have asked for a more amazing day of fishing. 7 sailfish hooked, 4 brought to the boat, it was amazing. Highly recommend Tackle Center for charters. It was a bucket list day for us and Charlie could not have been a more amazing Captain!  Thanks Captain Scobel!

Our Captain, Charlie, was a Keys native and it made our experience a great one. His kind and patient attitude, in combination with his skill and wisdom, made us feel very comfortable and we were able to catch a bunch of fish! Cpt Charlie's knowledge of the area, the different fish species, and how to catch them, all of the different techniques he has up his sleeves are priceless. We caught  7 species of fish including (for my wife and I) the coveted black fin, and king mak. King makeral makes the best ceviche in the world! Last year, because of Cpt Charlie's help I was a celebrity in Islamorada for a month (haha) as he helped me catch a 127lb yellowfin. Look at Tackle Ctr web site.
