If you're ready to experience fishing in Atlantic Beach, we've got you covered with Reef Girl Sportfishing. With Captain Sam at the helm, you'll benefit from years of knowledge and experience.
Depending on conditions and what trip you book, you might hook into Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Blackfin Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Red Grouper, Scamp Grouper, Gag Grouper, Spanish Mackerel, and who knows what else! Depending on the species you're after, you may find yourself light tackle fishing, trolling, or bottom fishing.
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks to stay fueled throughout your trip!
You'll be dropping lines from a 48' Sportfisher that holds up to 6 passengers. It has outriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials needed to catch memories that you will cherish. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with bait and rigging to insure the most successful catch based on your trip!
You'll have the help of a First Mate to help you land your catch, keep hooks baited and lines clear. Mates work hard to make your trip count, 20% tip is customary.
No need for a fishing license, we have you covered! Hop on, relax and fish! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
Some essentials to bring are sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), bottled water, snacks, and a hat. We can guarantee our all when it comes to putting you on the fish! We aim to fill your cooler and enjoyment out of the water! No bananas!

We all caught a bunch of sea bass and a few sheepshead. The vessel is well-kept and perfectly comfortable for our family of 5. We brought sunscreen, a cooler bag with drinks and snacks, and appropriately-sized life jackets for our three kids. The captain and mate seemed very knowledgeable about the area and the potential for what could be caught during our trip. I’d recommend booking with this team again!

Half Day Trip on July 23, 2025 • 5 adultsWas scheduled to a 3/4 day trip for 8 hours.Captain Sam called Wednesday night and said the seas were 6 ft and was going to need to cancel. Was offered our deposit back since the weather was the reason for cancellation. Said we do a inshore 4 hour trip trolling only for smaller fish and was about a 3rd of the price 1st mate Riley was very knowledgeable and took care of all lines and was a great person to fellowship with.We would definitely recommend them and will definitely go again, but want to experience the off shore fishing trip next time..5 stars to the captain and 1st mate

Half Day Trip on July 17, 2025 • 4 adults • 2 childrenCapt Sam and his mate, Rilley, went out of their way to bring the fish. We only did a half day and they put us on 25 fish to take home. We caught blues and mackerels. I had different expectations being from FL, but Capt Sam knew that the waters here are required to go much further out here in NC. They were both true professionals the entire time and went out of their way to ensure me and my daughters and wife enjoyed the experience. We are now home and enjoying all the fish we caught. One of my best days on the water. I’ll see you guys again the next time we come back to the area for sure!!

Full Day Trip – Offshore on August 6, 2025 • 4 adultsWe did an all day trip to the Gulfstream with Captain Sam and Riley the first mate. Captain Sam was great, entertaining and very informative. Riley knew exactly what to do and was was great at hooking the fish. He worked extremely hard so that we could have a great experience. We caught several fish including a sailfish. Great fun. I highly recommend the Boat and Captain Sam. It was a great time and when we go to the stream again, we will book it through Captain Sam Rick.

Half Day Trip on June 14, 2025 • 5 adultsTurned out to be a bad weather day for offshore fishing so after talking with Captain Sam the night before we decided to change it up to a half day fishing the inlet for Spanish Mackerel and Blue Fish. Making the change to the reservation on Fishingbooker app was very easy. Turned into a great day, we hauled in 16 Spanish and 8 blue. Captain Sam and 1st Mate Riley were awesome!

Riley was an awesome first mate who handled all the rod, tackle, unhooking the fish and filleting. We enjoyed the ride and reeling them in. A perfect morning on Emerald Isle.

Captain Sam was awesome and made our family’s first charter fishing experience fantastic. Everyone one of us caught a fish! Would definitely recommend booking a 4hr nearshore trip with Captain Sam. Next time we may go for the offshore all day adventure. We had a mix of brand new and experienced fisherman in our group and Captain Sam was great with our different levels.

Celebrated my husband's birthday with a fishing adventure on the Reef Girl. We got lucky and had a 70 degree day on 11/30. Captain Sam and his crew were the best. We caught so many fish we couldn't believe it! I think we reeled in over 30 fish. We can't wait to come back fishing again on Reef Girl with Captain Sam. Thank you for such a fun day out on the water on the beautiful Reef Girl.
Because of the NorEaster, our first charter had to be rescheduled. The Captain was understanding and very flexible. Captain Sam, Chris and Riley (aka, Bird) were fantastic with the 2 new novices. Fish were not biting as well as the Captain would have liked, but we caught fish nonetheless. I highly recommend this Captain and crew. Fun guys and they know what they are doing.
