Ready to cast a line in South Lake Tahoe? Then Cutthroat Cruises has a trip with your name on it! With Captain Scott at the helm, you’ll benefit from years of knowledge and experience.
Depending on the season, you might hook into Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Cutthroat Trout, Sockeye Salmon, Brown Trout, Lake Trout, and whatever else takes the bait. During the trip you might be spinning, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Scott also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
Cutthroat Cruises is a child-friendly charter service, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Also remember to bring snacks to ward off any mid-trip fatigue!
Capt. Scott welcomes you aboard a 40’ Tollycraft motor yacht that can carry up to 13 passengers. It has downriggers, all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures. Live bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
You’ll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
You will need to buy a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
Don’t leave home without sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
How often would you rather be fishing? Go on and turn that day dream into a reality, with Cutthroat Cruises.
