These waters are known for Striped Bass, Bluefish, Cod, Haddock, Black Seabass, Scup (Porgy), Bluefin Tuna, Bonito, Blue Shark, Squid, and more – with any luck, you'll find out for yourself! You can expect to do some spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Capt. Cole welcomes anglers of all ages, including kids, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Snacks are never a bad idea to ward off any mid-trip fatigue!
Capt. Cole operates a 35' Downeast that can carry up to 6 passengers. It has all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are provided, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. Mates often work for tips and it's customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
Don't forget to bring bottled water, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

The captain did his job perfectly. We were all beginners and we all felt like we were prepared during the tuna trip. He had us over a pod of fish with tuna jumping out of the water by 6:30 AM. Unfortunately, they weren't biting, and most every fishing boat was unsuccessful. Right spot but bad luck. So he did his job as good as anyone could have asked for and accommodating of 2 of us getting seasick. He is also a licensed paramedic, which wasn't advertised, but was very assuring if something went wrong. Very humble too and only mentioned it when I specifically asked. Thank you Captain Cole.
Cole and Murphy's Law exceeded every expectation for our family fishing trip. We had my father-in-law and my six-year-old twins along, and Cole made the whole experience seamless for everyone. He came prepared for the kids in a way I wasn't expecting — bean bags set up on deck for them to relax on between bites — and he was genuinely patient and great with them the whole trip. The boat itself was spacious, spotless, and clearly well cared for. As for the fishing — Cole put us on stripers all morning and we hit our limit before we knew it. He was on top of communication from the start, easy to coordinate with, and clearly knows these waters well. When we got back to the dock, he filleted our entire catch for us, which was such a great final touch. If you're looking for a charter that works for experienced anglers and young kids alike, book with Cole on Murphy's Law. We'll be back.

We started out for strip bass. The bite was not so good so the GREAT captain that cole is he chanAged his plan and we headed for some sea bass! caught a lot of sea bass!!! and a few other species of fish. Perfect day of fish!
