These waters are known for Roosterfish, Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, Striped Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, Black Marlin, and more – with any luck, they'll make your reel scream. You'll target your catch by spinning, popping, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Emilio also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Don't forget to bring snacks!
Bushwacker is a 42' Bertram tournament vessel rigged to billfish, she’s got custom rods from Fisherman Center in West Palm Beach, custom built Shimano reels, a set of 80’s, 50’s, 30’s, 20’s,15’s and a set of spinning gear. Two expert mates, and the billfishing capital of the world! A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
The boat has outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. What's more, this vessel is wheelchair accessible.
Before coming aboard, it will be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
You can't go wrong when you bring sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen (non-spray). Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks for you on board.

They are pros who were able to find the billfish. my boys caught about a 200lb Blue Marlin and soke Sailfish. it was their first timr landing billfish and thanks to Captain Emilio and the Bushwacker crew, we had an incredibke experience we will remember forver. They were all cool guys who explained everything and got really excited whehn we found the fish and stayed laser focused throughout the whole “fish landing” experience with my boys. Highly reccomend!!!

Full Day offshore trip on February 13, 2025 • 5 adults • 1 childWe had a party of 6 fish with Capt. Emilio and crew Feb. 13th out of Playa Flamingo. While the bite was slow in that day, we raised 5 Sails and a Marlin while landing 3. Food and drinks were good and plentiful and I was impressed with the captain’s techniques and adjustments to raise the bite. The only thing that would have made this a great trip was a more cooperative bite from the fish but that’s just fishing. Will book again when we’re in the area and recommend to anyone wanting to fish out of that region.
