Spend the day with Discover Tamarindo and see what's biting in Tamarindo!
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Sailfish, Striped Marlin, Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, White Marlin, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna, and whatever else takes the bait.
On these trips, it’s common to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Snacks are also a good idea to stay fueled throughout your trip!
You'll find yourself aboard a 38' Sportfishing with capacity for 10 passengers. It comes with a fighting chair, everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience.
You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you. Live bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
You might need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
You can't go wrong when you bring bottled water, sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks included on board.
Go ahead and treat yourself to a day on the water with Discover Tamarindo.
