Mi Niño Sportfishing
Mi Niño Sportfishing is all about fishing the stunning waters of La Paz.
These waters are known for Amberjack, Mahi Mahi, Almaco Jack, Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Roosterfish, Sailfish, Cubera Snapper, Bigeye Trevally, and more – with any luck, you'll have tight lines in no time. You'll target your catch by spinning, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are permitted onboard — bring your favorites to stay fueled throughout your trip!
You'll step aboard a 26' Van Díaz panga with space for 6 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Before coming aboard, it will be required to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
You can't go wrong when you bring sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks included on board.
Go ahead and treat yourself to a day on the water with Mi Niño Sportfishing.

We were delayed by an hour, waiting on the live bait, but our Captain made up for it by extending our fishing time for an hour. Caught a nice rooster within the first 30 seconds. We were consistently being hit by fish, there was never much of a lull. I told the captain the night before that we were going to go get our licenses, and he said he would take care of it. He also brought drinks as well. He put us on some nice Mahi Mahi, we missed a few opportunities, but eventually landed a real nice Mahi Mahi. The captain filleted it and bagged it all up for us. Best tasting fish I've ever prepared myself, but also the most expensive fish I've ever had 😂😂. You're paying for the experience and Captain Juan didn't disappoint. Memories, fishing with my boys that will last a lifetime.

I have booked fishing in la Paz three times. evertime its been great but i do want to point out that i was charged for some extras wich I wasn't expecting. we had to pay for mexican fishing license and bait for a total of $150 usd. Understanding the fees I feel like no one likes surprises so be advised when you book the trip. besides the fees everything was as expected and had a good time. hope this helps other to pick there trips wisely.
Organizing this trip from the US was simple and made convenient by the guide initiating communication almost immediately. Once in town, I met our guide a couple of days before our trip to arrange fishing licenses for my group. On the day of the trip, finding the meeting spot was easy. The trip itself was fun and informative. Our group caught a large mahi mahi along with some smaller fish. Our guide cleaned and bagged our fish while also providing a recommendation of a restaurant that would prepare our catch. The overall experience was fantastic and I plan to book these guys when I return to La Paz.

We look forward to seeing you again, my friend. I'm glad you like our service.
Great experience for all 6 of us. We caught an assortment of fish, and the skipper even took us to a beautiful, secluded beach for swimming. The best is when our skipper Yayo got us out of the way of a speeding boat that didn't even see us. There would have been serious injuries if I didn't alert him. Gracias Yayo!!
we had a great time fishing. caught rooster, durado, yellow snapper, green snapper, and cabrilla. a great day and an awesome 5 hour ishing trip. we are going back out with Eduardo for another day of fishing🎣🤘😎
