These waters are known for Blackfin Tuna, Permit, Amberjack, Gag Grouper, Cubera Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Caribbean Queen Snapper, Swordfish, Sailfish, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, and more – with any luck, it won't take long to hook into some. For these species, you're likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Trips with Fishing Freeman Key West are fun for all ages, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are also a good idea to keep up those energy levels!
You'll be casting lines from a 34' Freeman catamaran with capacity for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, and all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for some fishing! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
