Caleb's Guide Service – Columbia River Gorge
Caleb's Guide Service has a trip with your name on it along the stunning waters of the Columbia River near Hood River, Oregon. Captain Caleb will be your guide, so you'll benefit from years of local experience.
These waters are known for Salmon, Sturgeon, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), and more – with any luck, you'll hook into a few! Depending on the species you're after, you may find yourself spinning, trolling, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. You're welcome to bring snacks so that everyone stays happy and energized!
You'll be dropping lines from a 25' Alumaweld boat with capacity for 6 passengers. It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Caleb's Guide Service can accommodate larger groups of up to 24 guests. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you. Live bait is on offer, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Before coming aboard, you'll need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, but the captain will provide instructions on how to purchase. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
Some essentials to bring are jackets or a good outer layer if its cooler, bottled water, and sunglasses in the summer. Bring drinks or food in a small cooler or bag. just ask if you have any questions. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid glass bottles.

Captain Caleb was great. He communicated well, both before and during the trip, keeping us updated and answering our questions. The boat was nice and well equipped to get on the fish!

thanks Steven, had a blast fishing with you guys. looking forward to seeing you next year.

Captain Caleb was awesome. While we were between the heavy salmon runs, we were still able to catch some fish. We did a family trip and everyone was happy at the end of the day. The scenery is amazing in the Columbia River Gorge. Hope get back during a run.

Thanks for coming fishing with me on the Columbia River near Portland Oregon in the gorge. I hope to fish with you guys again soon.
The guys were great, but we were expecting a much more hands on experience

Hey Nicole, I enjoyed fishing with you guys. Sorry fishing was tougher in the area the week you were here. I try my best to set honest expectations accordingly before the trip. You came at a time of year right in-between seasons and specific runs, so fishing was slower but that’s out of my control. Hope you guys have a good rest of your trip in the northwest and would love to have the opportunity to have you guys on the water again.

I started fishing When I was a young kid. The first thing I learned to do was fly fish then as I grew older I learned more and more techniques. Now I use my knowledge to teach others how to have a great time on the water. I love to help people catch there first Salmon or steelhead. Nothing is more rewarding than that. The opportunity of catching the fish of a lifetime every time a new fish is on the line has me coming back for more and always will.
