Spring fishing in the florida keys offers a variety of good fish to be caught. Mahi-mahi, grouper, snapper, tarpon, sailfish, tilefish, and mackerel are the main target species this time of year but dont be surprised to see wahoo, cobia, tuna, and other species of fish. We offer high-speed trolling trips, live bait bump trolling, reef fishing, deep drop, wreck fishing, bridge fishing and bay fishing. The choice is yours and captain will let you know what has been the successful bite prior to the trip.

Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Child life jackets are available. Customers are encouraged to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, snacks and drinks. An iced down, large yeti cooler will be provided along with waters for anything you would like to keep cool.

Your vessel for the day is a 27’ Century center console with room for 4 passengers. It is loaded with all of the appropriate gear to put some large fish in the boat. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures. Live bait will be in the live well at pick up if available but some live bait will caught during the trip.

There's no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.

Go ahead and treat yourself to a day on the water with Keys Disease Charters.

Best Captain in the Lower Keys

I have been out with Captain Chris a handful of times now, and I couldn’t recommend anyone else. His equipment is top notch and his knowledge of the water is unmatched. He’s an excellent captain and I always felt SAFE, even when out after dark. I have sent half a dozen friends down to fish with him and everyone has the same great things to say. I have been out with a handful of other captains and his numbers and the sizes of the fish he puts me on is unmatched, even when everyone else around us seems to be having a hard time. He’s a hell of a captain and I would look no further if looking to have a great time out on the water!

Multiple Days in Paradise Fishin’ with Captain Chris

Can’t say enough good things about my experiences on the water with Captain Chris Harpster with Keys Disease Fishing Charters. This guy is a true master of his craft, as well as an excellent and hospitable host that will make anybody feel like a member of his own family aboard his beautiful boat. His top notch gear, years of experience, and gritty work ethic make me confident in recommending his services to anybody looking to have a good time out on the water—whether you come aboard with experience of your own or not. My father and I booked him for three separate half-day (4hr) trips in the month of January, and each day was uniquely amazing by utilizing different tactics in different locations around Marathon. We were lucky enough to land a multitude of bucket list species we’ve only dreamed of catching in the past. Tarpon, wahoo, tuna, mahi, mackerel, snapper, sharks—you name it, Captain Chris knows how to catch it. Truly unforgettable experiences provided by this man, and these memories will remain with my old man and I for the rest of our lives. Toilet on board is always a nice touch (especially for female guests), and he made sure our beer stayed iced down all day long, even in the warm temps. Good tunes, good vibes, incredibly reasonable rates (still…always be sure to tip your host!!) and the easiest going captain we’ve come across in any other corner of the country in our past. We can’t thank you enough, Captain Chris! We will be back, and we know exactly who we will be looking up when we do!

6 Hour reef/wreck/offshore

Relaxing time and good catches!

VERIFIED

We had a great time! Took the early morning trip for 6 hours. Chris the captain was friendly and knowledgeable. We did troll fishing, reef fishing and wreck fishing. Caught a few huge fish that took off with the bait and hooks before we could get them out of the water. Caught lots of smaller cool fish that went legal to keep so they had to be released. We were pleased to take home some good eating fish too.

Fun family trip

VERIFIED

We had a great trip out on the gulf with our family (with 2 young kids). We caught a bunch of fish (couldn’t keep everything, but we caught enough for a nice snapper dinner). The kids loved reeling in a shark. The boat allowed for a super smooth ride despite the wind, and Captain Chris was friendly, flexible, and helped us however he could to make the trip a success. Would highly recommend Keys Disease Charter!
