Capt. Patrick Owen
If you're ready to try fishing in the New Orleans area, look no further than Capt. Patrick Owen. We fish in the Biloxi Marsh area and the Chandeleur Islands. Your guide for the day is Capt. Patrick, giving you access to years of professional experience.
Species like Redfish, Black Drum, Sheepshead, Speckled Trout, Alligator Gar, Jack Crevalle, and more inhabit these waters if you come at the right time of year. While we prefer to fly fish, light tackle fishing with conventional spin gear is also an option for those days where conditions are less than ideal.
You'll find yourself aboard a 18' Maverick HPX-V skiff with room for 2 passengers. It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without.
Rods, reels, and tackle are included, along with flies. You will be fishing with 8-10wt Sage & G.Loomis fly rods with Hatch reels. Conventional gear is also available and rods are G.Loomis wish Shimano reels.
You will need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's recommended to bring a hat, rain gear (top & bottoms), polarized sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Bottled water will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Go ahead and treat yourself to a day on the water with Capt. Patrick Owen.
