Book your next trip with Guapo Boat and find out what keeps anglers coming back to Cancún for more. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Héctor Joaquin can tell you all about the local fishery.
You're likely to fish for Amberjack, Mahi Mahi, Black Grouper, Bonito, Great Barracuda, King Mackerel (Kingfish), White Marlin, Mutton Snapper, Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo, Yellowtail Snapper, Blacktip Shark, and more, depending on conditions. On these trips, you can expect to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Guapo Boat is a child-friendly charter service, so get 'em offline and onto the water! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are also a good idea to stay fueled throughout your trip!
Your vessel for the day is a 28' Sportfishing with space for 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. What's more, this vessel is wheelchair accessible.
Capt. Héctor Joaquin will provide rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. It's customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.
You might need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
Don't forget to bring sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Our family of five felt welcomed right away at the Guapo!! The crew helped each of our three boys, ranging in ages from 10 to 17, to reel in multiple fish, including a 40” Mahi Mahi that we opted to have preserved. We even had three sharks get hooked and put up an amazing fight and show that they each ended up winning; load of fun to witness!!! Our ride back to the marina included ceviche from our fresh caught fish prepared by crew. It was a morning of memories for sure!!

Thank you for your review and for recommending us, thank you

A pescar!!

gracias por recomendarnos fue un placer atenderlos. los esperamos para la próxima con gusto los atenderemos gracias
We had such an amazing trip with Guapo! The crew was professional, friendly, and made the whole experience so easy and fun from start to finish. They worked hard switching from trolling to bottom fishing and using live bait. Theres no guarantees fishing, but they do their best to set you up for success. We caught a blackfin tuna and a queen triggerfish, and they made fresh ceviche right on the boat, which was such a highlight. It does not get fresher than that. What really stood out was how helpful they were beyond the fishing trip. I accidentally left my phone in an Uber, and the crew kept calling and helping translate so I could get it back. They absolutely did not have to do that, but they went out of their way to help me, and I appreciated it so much. The boat was clean, the crew knew exactly what they were doing, and the whole day felt professional but still relaxed and fun. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend Guapo to anyone fishing in Cancun.

Thank you for visiting us and fishing with us thank you for your review very grateful César and Alex
Our recent fishing charter in Cancun with Captain Cesar was incredible from start to finish. The entire crew was professional, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. They made sure everyone was comfortable, helped throughout the trip, and worked hard to make the experience enjoyable and successful. The highlight of the trip was catching a large blackfin tuna, which made the experience even more exciting. The crew then prepared fresh ceviche right on the boat, and it was absolutely incredible. It doesn't get much fresher than that! The boat was clean and well-maintained, the equipment was great, and the atmosphere was fun the entire time. You can tell this team truly cares about their guests and takes pride in what they do. Whether you're experienced or new to fishing, I highly recommend booking with Guapo if you're in Cancun. Thank you again for an unforgettable trip!

Thank you for your review César and Alex very grateful we look forward to your next reservation thank you

Had an amazing trip with Captain Cesar and Alex! Caught my THIRD sailfish in less than a year, on two trips with them. We also caught blackfin tuna and some huge jacks that left my arm sore (in a good way) for days. Captain Cesar is truly a master of his craft and it is an honor to go fishing with him. He is both scientifically focused on catching fish, relaxed, helpful, and a great coach for anglers of any experience level. Alex also did a great job helping me battle some very strong fish - we hooked up double headers twice and then caught a beautiful sailfish in the last 20 minutes of the trip. Captain Cesar and El Guapo Charters are the the only company I will go offshore fishing with in Cancun. He is always ready to make his trademark fresh catch ceviche on the boat, but this time I opted for pure sashimi right from the blackfin tuna. Cannot recommend him highly enough. We have fished together 3-4 times, I have caught 'bucket list' fish, had several mounted, learned a lot, and made a friend. Anytime I'm in Cancun, I'm going fishing with Captain Cesar.

Thank you for seeing us visit again having a good day of fishing thank you for your review very grateful César and Alex
