There's a fish with your name on it in West Palm Beach and Miss Palm Beach Sport Fishing will help you catch it!
Depending on the season, you might hook into Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Mutton Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, Blackfin Tuna, Black Grouper, Goliath Grouper, Red Grouper, Pompano, Spanish Mackerel, and whatever else is biting. You'll target your catch by spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Derik also offers kite fishing.
If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Feel free to bring your own snacks to stay fueled throughout your trip!
You'll step aboard a 29' Latitude center console that can carry up to 4 passengers. It has downriggers, and everything you need for a productive day on the water. Capt. Derik will supply rods and reels for you, along with lures. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
A 16–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
A few items to bring include a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). There will be bottled water on board, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own drinks. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Give yourself something to look forward to and book a trip with Miss Palm Beach Sport Fishing!

We unfortunately had a pretty slow day of fishing with Derik, but he and Aaron worked hard and did everything they could to get us on the fish. Derik and Aaron were very profesional the whole time, changed tactics, moved our kite spread twice, and were constantly focused on the kite spread making sure baits were presented perfectly giving us the best shot for a bite. I really appreciate that they didnt give up until we absolutely had to go in. Boat was in excellent shape and was plenty of space for our group of four adults. I wouldn’t hesitate to fish with Derik again.
Capt. Derik made this such an amazing experience! Not only was he super knowledgeable about what kinds of fish we were catching and where to catch them, but he was also super helpful with everything! From the reeling to where to eat, Derik had the answer all of our questions! As a bonus, he even let us feel what a shark fight was like! Overall we were so happy we booked with Capt. Derik instead of the big 30 person charter, the one on one help and guide was so worth it and made this experience one we will never forget! Would 100% book again!
Derek was ready with live bait when we arrived in the morning. He called several times to coordinate the plan for the day and he had us on fish right away. We caught 5 species and brought 8 fish to the boat. Overall a great day. He filleted what we decided to keep and he took great care of us. We highly recommend him
I went out for a morning half day with Derik. he was very knowledgeable and personable. went above and beyond to get us on fish and split the time to make sure we go some good eating fish and some sport fish. highly recommend going out with Derik next time ill surely be booking a whole day!
We just had the best day out with Derik! We homeschool and so our goal is always be teaching new lessons and he was wonderful with teaching the kids (and us!) lots of helpful and important details about fishing in South Florida. We had some good luck and caught ourselves dinner for at least a week! He’s very knowledgeable and we felt safe the entire time on the boat with our kids. We highly recommend, he’s got great gear and an awesome boat!
I've been fishing longer than I've been walking. Raised on the water in South Florida, my earliest memories are aboard my father's boat—line in the water before I could talk, steering the helm by the time I was five. For my 13th birthday, he handed me the keys to my own: a 13-foot Boston Whaler. By 15, I was navigating these waters solo, chasing fish from Key West to Jupiter. South Florida isn't just where I'm from—it's who I am. I've spent my life learning its tides and the rhythms of its fisheries. Every chance I've had, I've been out there—honing my instincts, respecting the water, and pursuing the next bite.
