USCG Capt Chris Nichols at The Carolina Angler is one of the most experienced full-time fishing guides on Lake Wylie with over 45 years of fishing experience fishing for Crappie, Catfish, Bass, White Perch and Bluegill.
Fishing out of a 22' Sea Pro center console boat outfitted with the latest Lowrance electronics, we can accommodate up to 6 fisherman per boat. We can also accommodate larger parties up to 12-15 people with a weeks notice. We cater to families and children, as well as seasoned anglers.
We provide everything (rods, reels, tackle, bait & life jackets) you need to have a fun and successful day of fishing. The only thing you will need to provide is a fishing license and anything you want to eat / drink during the trip.
We are USCG licensed and commercially insured.

Best Fishing Trip Ever – Thank You, Carolina Angler!
We booked a birthday fishing trip with Carolina Angler for my 13-year-old son, and it was hands down the best fishing experience we've ever had — way better than trips we've done in Florida! Captain Chris was absolutely fantastic. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and patient, and he taught us so much about the fish we were catching — how to spot them, understand their habits, and why certain baits work best. His love for fishing and the lake really shows. We had an amazing day on the water and caught so much fish — around 8 catfish and close to 100 perch! This was way more than we've ever caught before. Chris had all the right gear, bait, and tips. He was especially great with the kids — helping them bait the hooks, cast properly, and take fish off the lines. My son said it was the best birthday fishing trip ever, and I couldn’t agree more. 12th Birthday Fishing Trip
All my son wanted for his bday was to fish with a few of his close friends. The family goes on a fishing trip in Florida every year with the same captain, so I knew replicating that was going to be hard to find. Well…..captain Chris did not disappoint. Even through the 40 degree windy weather, the boys caught lots of fish. Our son loved every moment of it and his friends couldn’t stop talking about it when they got home. We will definitely book another trip with Chris again.

Fishing with Captain Chris Nichols
I connected with Chris after my retirement with a desire to fish...something I had done less than ten times in the past 40 years. I have neuropathy in both my fingers and feet which can be limiting for me (I'm blessed; not complaining). Chris is patient and tremendously accommodating with every aspect, including bating the hook and removing it from the caught fish. He knows where to fish on the lake and takes great care to emphasize a safe and fun fishing experience. I cannot imagine a better captain.

Birthday trip for 11 YO grandson.
What a day … crappie, perch and monster catfish. We fished at 6-7 spots on the lake, caught fish at every one of them, Capt Chris really knows Lake Wylie and he was great to hang with. He made sure our grandson had a special day, my wife and I did too. Grandson’s comment on the way home, “best birthday present ever!”.

It really pays to hire a very Experienced Professional to enjoy your day catching fish. He knows the lake better than anyone that I have been with. Cpt Chris has years of experience. We caught good quality fish and a bunch of them( we got our limit)!!! Caught alot and released!!! It was a great day and he was on time and prepared to go. He had great gear to fish with too. I would suggest you try him if you can get him.
