Clown Knife Fish are South Florida's most elusive invasive species to chase. When you do hook into one of these crazy fish, they give you some wild acrobatic jumps and powerful runs! They even swim backwards while you're fighting them! What makes these fish so elusive is the very small area of South Florida they inhabit. You'll need patience when targeting Clown Knife Fish as they are picky eaters, and only bite during certain windows throughout the day.

Typically the Captain targets clowns with live bait and tries to have multiple rods set up with lines in the water to increase the chances of getting a bite. However, they are possible to target on artificials if you're willing to put in the hard work.

Captain Eric will net live Threadfin Shad before the start of the trip, free of charge. Live bait is the best way to target these elusive fish so it will be available at no cost to you.
