Sailfish Tours is all about fishing the stunning waters of Tamarindo. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Bismark can tell you all about them.
Skipjack Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Roosterfish, Broomtail Grouper, Black Marlin, Striped Marlin, Blue Marlin, Pompano, and more inhabit these waters, depending on when you go. On these trips, you can expect to troll and bottom fish.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. And, you can't go wrong with snacks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
You'll be fishing aboard a 26' Mako center console that holds up to 6 passengers. It has outriggers, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
Don't forget to bring sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks provided on board.
Now, come aboard with Sailfish Tours and get hooked!
