Fishing around here will often see you targeting Black Drum, Sheepshead, Redfish, Flounder, Bonnethead Shark, Mangrove Snapper, Spotted Seatrout, and more, depending on conditions. On these trips, you can expect to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Also remember to bring snacks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
Your fishing machine for the day is a 21' Avid center console with space for 5 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Capt. Jared has rods and reels for you, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
Before coming aboard, it will be required to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's recommended to bring sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Excellent guide service, Captain Jared made my experience an unforgettable one. He provides everything you need to have an excellent time out on the water, whether it be saltwater bay fishing or freshwater fishing on Lake Whitney. His services also provided us with bait, tackle to lines, lures rods and reels, even cleaning our catch after a long day. He's a family man so his patience with my kids and our inexperience was a plus, you can truly see his passion for what he does and for the people that book a trip with him. RAIN DELAY BUT GREAT TRIP!!

Came down to visit and a friend had referred Captain Jared to us. We booked the trip and it was worth every cent plus some!! He knew where to go and where to set the bait, helped us out and just made us feel welcome like we were old friends. We come down every year so we’ll be booking with Capt. Jared every time for sure from here on out and I’ll tell all my friends to do the same. It’s Hookin Huffman all the way!!
