If you're ready to go fishing in Harrisburg, we've got you covered with Big Rock Fishing Charters. With Captain Matthew at the helm, you're in knowledgeable and experienced hands.

Around here it's common to catch Smallmouth Bass, Catfish, and more with any luck. On these trips, it's common to bottom fish using light tackle. Fishing on these trips is strictly for sport and everything you catch will be released.

Young ones are welcome, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. And, you can't go wrong with snacks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!

Capt. Matthew welcomes you aboard a 18' Crestliner 1870 river jet boat, that holds up to 3 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without.

You will need to buy a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.

A few items to bring include bottled water, sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is not allowed.

The click of a button is the only thing keeping you from a great day on the water with Big Rock Fishing Charters!

Easy going guide
4 Hour Trip – Smallmouth Bass on October 4, 20251 adult2 children

We had a beautiful morning on the river today with Matt. He was knowledgeable and easy going. The bite was tough, and he searched for fish for my two sons and I. My oldest son caught his PB smallmouth!! We will be calling Matt again in the future!

My name is Matt Webb. Born in Baltimore MD, I grew up fishing the Chesapeake Bay and various bodies of water throughout Maryland until my family moved to Pennsylvania. Fishing wasn't always my biggest passion in life as I was really into bmx, skateboarding and playing music! Once I hit my mid 20's I started finding a tremendous amount of joy fishing. Fishing seemed to take priority over everything I had invested in myself in other areas other than my career in food service. I spent 20 years as a working Chef and currently I'm in Food Sales. I have always challenged myself on bodies of water in Pennsylvania as I laid the groundwork for my fishing career, from chasing largemouth bass to channel catfish, panfish to carp. I have spent countless hours during all seasons learning as much as I can. It wasn't until 2010, when I got big into flathead catfish and smallmouth bass fishing on the amazing fishery of the Susquehanna River! I started pounding the banks not knowing anyone and figuring things out on my own. In 2015,I started tournament fishing for Catfish after being invited out by my friend Andrew Lentz. Since then, I've been competing every single year, averaging top 10 season finishes along with various partners. As you could imagine being a husband and father of 3 a lot of my time in energy goes into my family! My family started growing and my fishing time was limited but deep down my dream was to become my own captain in hopes of retiring as a guide. Well, here we are in 2025 and this will be my first year guiding part time on the Susquehanna River. My goal is to provide people an exceptional experience on this amazing body of water and share my passion, while allowing them the opportunity to experience the 'Susky Magic' in all its glory. It's important to highlight that I am not just a single species guide. I love smallmouth bass fishing just as much as my catfishing, and the opportunity for both options on this river can be epic! Thanks for listening to my story~ I invite you to come join me on a great day of fishing! See you on the water- Captain Matt
