Spend the day with Muddy Creek Adventures and get hooked on fishing in the Croatan, Roanoke and Pamlico Sounds of the Outer Banks. Captain James Craddock will be your guide, offering years of local experience.

These waters are known for Crab, Speckled Trout, Sheepshead, Black Drum, Bluefish, Flounder, Redfish, and more – with any luck, you'll find out for yourself! You can expect to jig, bottom fish and occasionally troll on these trips using light tackle.

If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Also remember to bring snacks to keep up those energy levels!

Your fishing machine for the day is a 24' Carolina Skiff with room for 4 passengers. It comes with all the essentials a fishing machine needs.

The Charter covers rod, reels, tackle, and lures. Live bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.

There's no need to buy a fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.

It's always wise to bring bottled water, sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Great Trip!

2-hour crabbing early morning on June 10, 2026 • 4 adults

Captain James took us out to pull crab pots and then do some fishing. The crabbing was a lot of fun, and we harvested nearly a bushel of Blue Crabs with only pulling 5 pots. My 14-year-old son was able to get hands on and pull up the pots and empty them into the boat. James was very willing to teach us all aspects of fishing and crabbing in the sound. He has a long family history living and fishing on the water.

Great day on the water!

3 Hour Trip – Family Fun (AM) on June 12, 2026 • 4 adults

James was great, took us out for some crabbing and fishing. Learned how to crab, James explained everything and turned us loose. We finally got on the fish towards the end of our time and he let us keep fishing until we had to get back. Thanks for a great day James. Would highly recommend!

2-hour crabbing early morning on July 31, 2025 • 3 adults

We had an amazing early morning trip with Muddy Creek Adventures! I took my wife and daughter out to crab and watch dolphins, and the experience could not have been better. The directions to the meeting location were clear, and there was plenty of parking. Our captain was on time and welcoming.

The boat—a comfortable center console skiff—had plenty of room for the three of us, and the bean bag chairs were a fantastic touch! We loved that there were several trip options, and the captain was incredibly accommodating in making the morning enjoyable for everyone.

Highly recommend Muddy Creek Adventures for a fun, relaxing, and memorable outing on the water!

3Hr Crab, Fish &Sunset Cruise on August 6, 2025 • 2 adults • 2 children

We had an awesome time and got to see 20+ dolphins. Very knowledgeable on birds, fish and the area. Put us in an area that was hitting with fish and kids were able to catch one after the other. Unfortunately weather changed our location and we didn’t get a sunset. But James was tracking storms and changed the location early in the day with communication to get us the best experience.

Capt James was great. A little sight seeing, dolphin watching, catching fish ,ospreys, etc.   6 and 7 yoas had a blast. Great am in outer banks    Stolat to captain James
